Assisted by McIntosh, Lee prepared Seven Grain Baguettes accompanied by a mixed salad. She gave tjie group many helpful ideas. For the main course, Lee pre- pared a basic stir fry in a wok. A colourful straw- berry rhubarb tart made an attractive dessert. W.I. hold spring meeting HENSALL - The spring meeting of Huron South District Women's Institute was held April 6 at Hensall United Church. Lois McFalls, District President welcomed the members. The Roll Call "Something we can do for the International Year of the Older Person" was answered by 21 mem- bers. The Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) member Donna MacPherson of Embro gave greetings and infor- mation from F.W.I.O. The W.I. display list for the fall fairs was present- ed with the theme for the display "International Year of the Older Person." The annual picnic will be hosted by Elimville at the Crediton Community Park on July 6. The area convention is to be held in Mt. Brydges on October 28. The District Annual will be held in Crediton on May 20 with registration at 6 p.m. Curators workshops for the area will be held in Springfield on August 5. The' International Plowing Match hostess gift bags were handed out to the branches. Institute members\are supplying gifts for these bags. Members were encour- aged to participate in "Pitch in Canada" during the month of May. The fall board meeting will be held November 2. After singing the Ode and repeating the Collect, 12 mem- bers and three guests answered the roll call "Name a youth organization you or a member of your family has been involved in". Johns called Grace Pym to the front where Shirley Cooper presented her with a life mem-. bership pin and Margurette Butler presented a certificate to her. Butler gave a report from the District meeting. Johns and Pym helped with the meal at Slice of Huron in Seaford' last Friday. The branch will be responsi- ble for entertainment at the District Annual on May 20 in Crediton. The District picnic wilt be held Jury 6 in Crediton. A donation was sent to the Exeter Agriculture Society for the school section wt ich is being held this year on July 1. Kay Morley read the slate of Officers and the election fol- lowed. Most members are hold- ing the same offices as last year. Olga Hern gave an Easter reading. She introduced Harry and Clarice Hern who showed pictures of their trip to New Orleans, Texas and other states last spring.
