Volunteer appreciation
HENSALL - The high-
light of the week at
Queensway in Hensall
was the Volunteer
Appreciation Party held
.April 15. Over 50 volun-
teers attended to hear
speaker Gerry McComb
talk about his experi-
ences as a volunteer. He
also asked his audience
why they volunteer and
what their most memo-
rablevolunteer experi-
ence was. Those attend-
ing represented churches,
service clubs, the Hensall
Legion Ladies Auxiliary,
choirs, bands, singing
groups, friendly visitors,
pastoral support, Meals
on Wheels drivers,
dancers, and of course
our invaluable volunteer
auxiliary members. A
time of refreshments and
visiting followed the guest
speaker. Ed Galloway,
resident council president
drew for several door
prizes and lucky winners
were, Rev. and Marlene
Williamson, Marie Flynn,
Loran Spencer, Marg
Workshop
coming
Varley, Marg Cole,
Audrey Christie, Orville
Storey and Edna Deitz.
National Volunteer Week
is April 18 to 24 and
although we appreciate
the volunteers everyday it
is good to set aside a time
to provide some recogni-
tion for the countless
hours they give to bring
pleasure to the residents.

On Sunday May 16,
Peggie Clark has been
invited to be guest_ organ-
ist at Trivitt. Clark is well-
known for her musical
talents and was a promi-
nent teacher of vocal
music in the Toronto -
Markham area as well as
as being organist and
choir master many years
at St. Andrew's United
Church in Markham.
An excellent musical
event took place April 18
at Trivitt Memorial
Church when Rob
Robilliard of South Huron
District 1Iig.h School
brought his community
band and community
choir to the church. The
church offers excellent
acoustics for a band or
chorus of this size. Many
thanks to these musical
people who brought such
an enjoyable afternoon of
music to this community -
your singing and playing
were much appreciated.
The Presbyterian
Women provided assis-
