said "staying out of the
penalty box is our main
goal now."

Friday. He was assisted
by; Justin Mulligan and
Derek Graansma.
Wellesley peppered
the Lucan net with 50
shots while the Irish
managed 23 shots.
The Irish had a chance
to tie Sunday's game
with 1:18 left in regula-
tion time when Lucan
was awarded a penalty
shot. Wellesley was
penalized for intentional-
ly knockirig, off their net.
Lucan didn't score.
Scott Phillips scored
Lucan's first goal on
Sunday from Andy
Marshall midway
through the second peri-
od less than a minute
after Wellesley opened
the scoring.
Wellesley regained the
lead three minutes later.
Lucan tied the game
with 8:49 left in the
game when Marshall
scored from Neil Judson.
The Applejacks scored
while on the powerplay
just over two minutes
later and held on to win.
Lucan's powerplay
was on fire in game one
and scored three goals.
Wellesley scored their
two goals in the third
period.
Lucan's goals were
scored by Dunbar with a
pair, Judson, Mulligan
and Roy Davis with
assists going to Mulligan
(2), Corey Smith (2), Neal
Costello (2), Dunbar,
Mark Phillips and Dan
Hardlck.
Game four was played
last night after press in
Wellesley. Game five is
tonight in Lucan at 8:15
p.m. Game six is at
Wellesley on Friday at
7:30 p.m. Game seven (if
nee.) is at Lucan on
Sunday at 8:40 p.m.

The birds are singing,

out on the links.
The two public Exeter
golf clubs are open for
business. Located two
kilometres south of
Exeter and two kilome-
tres east on County Rd.
6, Exeter Golf Club is
well known for an 125 -
year -old barn that has
been turned into the
clubhouse.
Built in 1962, the 9 -
hole, par 36 course
ranges in length from
3,086 to 2,698 depend-
ing on what tee you
choose. The club also
features a driving range.
Co-owners Bob and
Janet Mason are adding
a deck to the side of the
barn. The outside
deck/patio will open
soon, Janet said.
The biggest event
planned so far this sea-
son is the third annual
United Food Workers
Union Local 6178 tour-
nament, a fund-raiser for
Leukemia research, on
May 29.
Nine holes of golf costs
$16 at Exeter Golf Club,
with a special $13 week-
day twilight fee. There
are special junior and
senior rates available.
Carts cost $12.54 and
the rental on a full set of
clubs only costs $7.

Ironwood Golf Club is
located one about two
kilometres east of Exeter
off Highway 83 on
County Rd. *. Built in
1963, the course features
rolling hills, mature trees
and attractive water haz-
ards.
The par 71, 18 -hole
course ranges from
6,179 to 4,819 yards
depending on the tee.
The first big event at
Ironwood is the annual
Shriner tournament
scheduled for June 2.
The men's and women's
leagues begin the first
week in May and the
senior men's invitational
tournament is June 9.
The junior schedule has-
n't been announced yet.
Ironwood's Gib Dow Jr.
is excited about the
interest in the club from
young people.
"We have tons of kids
starting this year," he
said.
