the World Vision 30
Hour Famine on the
weekend. More than
$5,500 was raised, bring-
ing the six-year total to
nearly $ 16,000.

underway for
volunteer week

Volunteer Auxiliary met
for their monthly meet-
ing. Everyone was
reminded that the
Volunteer Appreciation
Party is planned for April
15 to show the many vol-
unteers the appreciation
they -deserve for the posi-
tive . impact they have on
the lives of the residents,
allowing the residents to
maintain their ties to the
community through
entertainment, socializing
and outside visits.
Volunteer week takes
place April 18 to 24 , a
time to increase the
awareness of the vital
contribution which volun-
teers make to their com-
munities and society as a
whole.
Wednesday afternoon
Loren McKenzie, singer
and pianist entertained
... the residents, family
members and volunteers
in the activity room with
her huge repertoire of
songs to suit every taste.
Several people who
wished to be outdoors
benefitting from the sun-
shine and mild weather
had an opportunity
Thursday afternoon when
co-op student Joyce
Beemer assisted with tak-
ing them outdoors for
walks and wheelchair
rides. In the evening,
several Friday began as
usual with exercise group
in the Activity Room. In
the afternoon, the video,
Adventures of Yellow Dog •
was shown.
