Market report from Denfield Livestock Sales Denfield Livestock Sales Market report for Tuesday, April 6. The market at Denfield Livestock traded on a very strong demand at:prices $2.00 to $4.00 higher on all classes of fed cattle with the fancy cattle bringing a pre- mium. Cows sold strong at higher prices, stockers were strong, with the light end selling $5.00 higher. Veal was steady, pigs, sows and boars were steady. Peter Verstraete, Bothwell sold 6 head average weight 1184 average price 100.16 with sales to 110.50 and 108.50 purchased by MGI Packers by Carl Russnell. Don Eedy and Mark Vanderploeg, Denfield sold 21 heifers average weight 1280 average price 99.61 with sales to 106.50 pur- chased by Norwich Packers. Lorna and Lianne Hodgins, Parkhill sold 2 steers averaging 1433 lbs., average price 107.77 pur- chased by Norwich Packers. More than 500 students from several Middlesex County schools attended the two-day event Geared towards children aged 4-12, the workshop helped children learn how to protect themselves and their families while having a safe and enjoyable summer. Many students brought their par- ents to see the displays Thursday evening. This is the sixth year for the event which rotates around the county but the first time it has been held at a school.
