Book Wholesale Easter Colouring Contest was four-
year-old Luke Pennings of Zurich. Luke was the
proud winner of a Winnie -the -Pooh "Go Pack".
Lodging needed for plowing match visitors

HENSALL - The Hensall
Horticultural meeting will be held
April 19 at Queensway in Hensall.
The topic will be "Butterfly
Gardens" with Betty Battye as the
guest speaker. The meeting begins
at 7:30 p.m.
The curbside ,collection of green
waste will be Mondays, April 12, 19
and 26 in the village of Hensall.
Green waste includes garden
waste, trimmings, brush, -etc.
Materials must be in containers
that can be dumped, or in card-
board boxes - no bags will be col-
lected. Brush and branches must
be bundled and no longer than four
feet in length.
Effective January 1, the hours at
the Hensall landfill are
Wednesdays, from 1 to 3 p.m.
At Hensall United Church Pirie
Mitchell's message was entitled
"You Call This a Church?"
The organist was Belva Fuss. She
sang a solo with Jean Jacobe
accompanying. Isabel Rogerson
was the greeter with Elaine and
Wayne Corbett receiving the offer-
ing. Pat Pryde lit the candle.
Prayers were asked for the
Fordwich United Church.
Accommodations are still
required for guests of the
International Plowing Match. For
more information contact the
church office. The annual beef sup-
per will be held April 21. Tickets
are still available. For more infor-
mation call Marg at 262-2304.
At Hensall Carmel Presbyterian
Church, Tracy Bahro's message
was "To Doubt Or Not To Doubt."
The offering was received by
Homer Campbell and Harry Smith.
The organist was Joyce Pepper.
• The Friendship Circle, of Hensall
United Church met on April 5 for
an Easter meeting. A poem entitled
"Home on Easter" was read by
Mona Alderdice who chaired the
meeting. An invitation was read
from St. Andrew's United Church in
Kippen to attend their April
Thankoffering meeting on April 13.
Volunteers are needed for Monday
Bingo games at Queensway in May.
The Spring Bale will be packed on
June 7. Please put aside your good
used clothing for this bale.
It was agreed by the Friendship
Circle to help pay for a food proces-
sor that was .purchased by the
Drop -In Group and will also be
used by the church. The Easter
devotions were prepared by Anne
Armen and presented by Kay Mock.
The devotional was entitled "The
Triumphs of an Empty Tomb".
Ten members answered the roll
call with Easter traditions observed
by their families.

Corbett hosted a time of fellowship.
Great support shown to SHDHS 30 -hour famine
The 30 -Hour Famine
took place last weekend
with an amazing
turnout. Over 80 stu-
dents stayed for the
entire session, and a fun
time was had by -all.
This year, the goal was
$3,500 dollars.
Impressively, the stu-
dents raised well over
$5,500 dollars to help
World Vision Canada in
their efforts to relieve
famine and disaster sites
and to promote global
education. Thanks to all
students and teachers
who participated, espe-
cially Mr. MacLeod.
Your efforts are greatly
appreciated.

in the morning of Wed.,
April 21, right after
speeches, and winners
will be announced later

'Election Dance'.

depending on the quality
of their application and
interview. Good luck to

A Cabaret is being
held in the large gym at
South Huron on Sat.,
April 24. This is a night
of jazzy music and appe-
tizers that begins at 7:30
p.m., starring the award-
winning Black ' Jazz
Band. The cost is $5,
and with a limit of 400
being allowed in, buy
your tickets quickly.
Only a few tickets are
left, and they can be
bought from any band
participant or directly
from the music depart-
ment. This will be the
second year of `the
Cabaret, and the night is
expected to be as enter-
taining as last year's, so
if you love great music,
come on out!
The OAC Drama class
is holding a comedy
night on Tues., April 27.
If you can • handle a ton
of laughs, come on out!
