Rumours have
valu-mart getting
new, bigger store
EXETER — Rumours circulating around town have
Exeter's valu-mart grocery store growing to giant
proportions.
The owners of the valu-mart mall, London's
Wonderland Power Centre Inc., have applied for an
official plan amendment and a zoning bylaw amend-
ment for the property the current Seip's valu-mart
mall sits on as well as the field next to the store.
The official plan and bylaw amendments would
change the the land designation to highway commer-
cial from industrial and pave the way for a larger
store.
Seip's valu-mart's Tom Seip feels the move by his
landlord, also known as Southside Construction, was
spurred on by the new Canadian Tire store that will
be constructed next to the field adjacent to valu-mart.
Seip said he hasn't been told by his landlord that a
new valu-mart is coming anytime soon.
"Not at this time to my knowledge," Seip said.
Southside Construction was contacted by the T -A
but their officials couldn't respond before press.
