Forty-three per cent of the in- juries occured while children were playing. The McGillivray Central Home and School hopes to decrease this statistic with farms safety days April 8 and 9 at McGillivray Central School. During school hours, students will take part in the program and from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. on April 8, families are invited to participate. The workshop will help children learn to protect themselves and their families. There are five interactive stations: large and small farm machinery, wa- ter hazards, disability awareness, hy- dro, first aid, farm* safety and chemical safety. It takes about 15 minutes to look at each of the five stations. Packages con- taining a large variety of handouts will be available. A "Farm Safety Day" keepsake for each child to. take home will also be handed out as a reminder of "Safety on the Farm" and food will be available at a nominal cost. This is a free program sponsored by Middlesex Farm & Home Safety As- sociation, Middlesex Children's Re- source Centre, Ontario Federation of Agriculture, Novartis Seeds Inc., Cargill Melbourne Ltd., Middlesex Federation of Agriculture and local businesses.
