back OMHA championship by
winning the Novice 'DD' West
fmal series 3 games to 0 over G
Embro. The Lasers won the title
in 1998 by defeating Cayuga 3-0
as well.
The Lasers won the three games
by a combined score of 36-11.
After the final game in Embro
March 21, the Lasers were pre-
sented with individual gold
medals, as well as the gold plated
Lobster cup,by representatives of N
the OMHand Red Lobster

novice division trophy after the Hensall-based
team won the tournament on the weekend. At
right is Dashwood's Melissa Brideau and her father
Ed. Other team members are: Adam O'Reilly,
Adam Graff, Tyler Markham, Josh Corman, Nathan
Corman, Mallorie Zavitz, Ashly Harrigan, Alan
Hyde, Graham Jibb, Ricky Clark, Greg Clark pres-
ident Brian Corman, coach Kevin Percival, assist-
ant coach Lee Pranger, Andy Harrigan and Norm
Hyde. The Sledge Hawks only allowed two goals
during the entire tournament. Ihe Hawks beat the
All Island Sports from New York in the final 3-2.
The Hawks also beat Cobourg's Lakeshore Bullets
5-0, Peterborough's Kawartha Blazers 6-0, the All
Islands 4-0 and the Kitchener Sidewinders 1-0 in
the semi-final. The Hawks are made up of players
from Huron, Perth, Lambton and North Mid-
dlesex. The tournament featured 43 teams and
200 players in four age divisions from Ontario,
Quebec, the U.S. and a team from Sweden.

Jr. D conference final
LUCAN - It'll be a north versus
south series to determine the best
hockey team in the Jr.. D Yeck Conference.
The Lucan Irish have been waiting for the
outcome of the Port Stanley Lakers/Belmont
Bomber series. Port finished off Belmont 6-4 on
Saturday to take their best four out of seven
• series 4-2.
The Irish take on the Lakers in their
conference final series starting tonight at Lucan
Community Memorial Centre at 8:15 p.m.
Game two is at Port on Friday at 7:30 p.m.;
game three is at Lucan Saturday, 8:15 p.m.
(tentative time); game four is at Port Tuesday,
7:30 p.m.; game five (if necessary) is at Lucan
March 31, 8:15 p.m.; game six (if necessary) is
at Port April 2.; game seven (if necessary) is at
