Four Lucan hockey teams played in Ontario Minor Hockey Association final series action at Lucan Arena on the weekend. The Lucan DD Novice Lasers won game three versus Embro 10-3 Sunday to sweep the series six points (three wins) to none. Lucan won game one on March 16 12-5 and game two Saturday 14-3. (For goals and assist getters, see Minor Hockey Scoreboard.) The championship marks the' first time a Lucan rep team has won back-to-back OMHA titles. Lucan swept Cayuga last season. Each. Laser player was presented with a gold medal after Sunday's win and the team was handed the Red Lobster Cup. The Lucan Irish Atoms started their OMHA final series versus Tweed with two home wins, 6-2 on Locked up. The Lucan Atom A/E team is locked in a four point tie with Frankford in their OMHA final play - downs. The A/Es lost game three 3-1 at home Friday but rebounded for a 4-1 win at home Saturday. The fifth and deciding game is at Lucan on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Lucan Bantams. are on their way to repeat last year's all -Ontario title by winning their first two games versus Mariposa at Lucan on the weekend. The Bantams won game one 4-3 in overtime Friday, the winner scored by Jason Smith from Trevor Smith and Mike Pletch. Other Lucan goals were scored by Mike Ankers (unassisted), Trevor Smith (from Matt Ruston and Jason Smith (Trevor Smith, Mike Pletch). The score was 3-2 for Lucan going into the third period; Mariposa scored at 11:20 of the third to tie the game and send it into overtime. Lucan had it easier in game two Saturday and won 7-3. Lucan led 3-1 after the first period but Mariposa stormed back in the sec- ond period and came out of the frame with a 4-3 lead. Lucan did all the scoring in the third to notch the win and a four points to none lead in the six -point series. Nick Hosking scored two goals for Lucan with sin- gles by Mike Pletch, Darrell Parsons, Trevor Smith, Jason Smith and Alex Michaelis. Assists went to Jason Smith (2), Michaelis, Thomas Mills, Ankers, Parsons, Mike Pletch and Adam Finch. The Bantams could wrap the series up in Mariposa on, the week- end. Having four teams in OMHA finals is extra spe- cial for Lucan Minor Hockey which is celebrat- ing its 50th anniversary this year. Taking it out. Atom D Super Sonics are up' three points to one in their six -point OMHA final series versus West Muskoka after winning and tying the first two games at Stephen Arena on the weekend. The Sonics won game one 7-3 Saturday. Jason Thompson scored four goals for Stephen with Greg Thompson, Cale Duenk and Jamie Carradine adding singles. Leanne Cronyn chipped in with three assists and single assists were earned by J.T. Knee, Kent Nicholson, Brent Windsor, Jason Thompson and Carradine. Stephen and the Rattlers battled to a 4- 4 tie Sunday. Stephen goals were scored by Jason Thompson with two, Blair McCann and Greg Thompson. Assists went to J.T. Knee, Carradine, Greg Thompson, Windsor, Jason Thompson, Duenk and Cronyn. Game three is at MacTier on Saturday at 3 p.m. and game four is at Bala on Sunday.
