Davis r5A1NTSUURY CORRES1ONDENT SAINTSBURY - My apologies, omitted from last week's news of the funeral of the late Mary Davis, cousins Wendy Hardy of Lucan favoured with the beautiful solo "In the Garden" accompanied by her brother David Elston of London. On Wednesday, Hazel Davis attended the Noon Hour Lenten service at St. Paul's Cathedral where Professor Ian Hunter gave a message entitled 'I Thirst". Before the ser- vice, Davis visited with friend The Rev. Canon Beverley A. Wheeler. The Very Rev. Bruce House remembered St. Patrick's in prayer as the only St. Patrick's in the Diocese. The Davis' called at the Evans Chapel Furtney Funeral Home in London on Wednesday to pay their respects to Thomas Cuthbert, . father of cousins Randy and Barbara (Lilley) Cuthbert of London. Several children of the community have enjoyed visiting with friends dur- ing the winter break. Queensway celebrates St. Patrick's HENSALL - St. Patricks Day was celebrated at Queensway Wednesday evening with a performance by Celtic Harpist, Wendy O'Conner of Grand Bend. Thursday another special evening was enjoyed by the residents when, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Otterbein, Irvin and Grace Martin, with Calvin and Mary Gingerich entertained. Winnie Hutton, Pastoral care volunteer led Church and a Memorial Service Tuesday when the residents remembered, Ruth Church, Jean Tompson, Bonnie May and Blanche Stephenson who have passed away this year. Harvey Smith and Doug Insley entertained Friday evening in the Retirement Home Lounge for Friendship Friday. Throughout the week residents also benefited from exercises and games, bingo, a video and library time. Edna Deitz was in to transport tuck cart for residents convenience. March 25, 7 p.m. Birthday party with the Mergymakers X enjoy March break Saturday evening at 7 p.m. St. Patrick's cele- brated their Evening Prayer service with Margaret Carroll leading the service for Lent 5 taken from the Book of Common Prayer. She also gave the meditation enti- tled "The Power of the Spirit." . Bob MacGillivray, People's Warden, assisted with the scripture read- ings. Hazel Davis gave the children's focus. A prayer for the late Mary Davis was given and flowers were placed in her memory and several of her favourite hymns were enjoyed. The Rev. Stanley Jay will be officient at St. Patrick's for the Palm Sunday service on March 28 at 10:30 a.m. Sympathy of the com- munity goes to the family of the late Joyceline (Dickey) Timpany who passed away at Parkwood Hospital in London fol- lowing a courageous bat- tle with cancer. She grew up on Lot 5, Concession 3 of Biddulph Township and attended SS #9 Biddulph. She will be missed by her husband Stuart of London, her mother Inez Dickey, sister Margaret Penrod of Waterloo and brothers John and Joyce Dickey of Usborne Township and Ron and Donna Dickey of Lucan and her nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday from the Dinney Funeral Home in Exeter. _ Recently the family of Ron Carroll were home to celebrate his March birth- day.
