ton.The exhibition will run till March 28.Artists from throughout southern
Ontario contributed 132 pieces this year, up from 85 works last year:Windsor's
Lenoard Michael won the $2,000 best of show nod for his `Tobermory Surf'.
Parkhill's Klass won second place for his `Shoreline Shimmer'. Merit awards went
to London's Tom O'Shea (a monoprint called 'Easter'),Toronto's Fred Collins
(`Grand Bend') and London's Bonnie Parkinson (`Contemplation'). PaintThe
Huron Shores organizer Barry Richman, a Grand Bend artist, was pleased with the
show's growth this season and with the new venue."What this has shown me is
the show is sustainable," he said. "1 think we have a happy home and a great part-
nership" with the museum.
Shipka area residents tour Portugal

Evelyn Nicholson, of
ourtright and friend Kay
aiusley, of Sarnia,
returned home from a 23
day trip to Algarve,
Portugal. While there
they enjoyed several tours
around Portugal seeing
all the white washed
houses with red tile roofs
and artistiacally decorat-
ed chimneys.
They also toured in
Spain, shopped in Seville
and had a guided visit of
the cathedral.
Euchre games were
held, at Shipka
Community Centre on
March 9 with the east
gropu in charg.e Seven
tables were In play.

singing, filling in for

March 21 a quilted wall
hanging was on display at
the United Church. The
quilt will be entered at the
quilt show in April, after
that it will be on display at
the TD bank in Grand
Bend, as a promotion for
the auction on June 11.
The Youth Centre would
like to say thanks to the
many women that showed
support to the Centre by
helping to quilt the wall
hanging.
