The Annual Canoe Rally
sponsored by the Stanley
Township Rec Committee
is scheduled for April 11
with registration to begin
at 11:30 am. There will be
a draw for a 15 foot
Algonquin canoe supplied
by Huron Outfitters.
Tickets can be pur-
chased from any rec com-
mittee member, the Varna
General Store and the
Stanley Township Office.
The Rec committee is
also planning a New Years
Eve Dance . Tickets will be
available shortly. They will
be $50 per person which
include a hot buffet meal,
a live band `Magnum' ,
hats , noise makers etc.
The Varna Crokinole Club
have room for a few more
entries in their Crokinole
Tournament to be held
this Saturday, March 27 at.

Rebekah Lodge members Doris Denham and Bev
Campbell to attend sessions in London on June.44, 15
and 16.
Pride of Huron will open a meeting in Clinton on
April 5 when President of the Assembly Pat Smith will
visit. Dinner will begin at 6:3Q p.m. The District meet-
ing will be held April 14 in Clinton at 2•p.m.
The evening of entertaining the Oddfellows and their
spouses was very successful as 38 people enjoyed sup-
per, musical entertainment and euchre games.
POLICE BRIEFS
Man charged in Lucan accident
LUCAN — Two people were taken by ambulance to
London's University Hospital with minor injuries due
to a two -vehicle accident south of Lucan Saturday at
about 3 p.m.
A pickup truck driven by Ailsa Craig's Michael
Morley, 18, wass northbound on Coursey Line while a
Buick driven by David Pritchard, 20, of London was
westbound on William St. when the two vehicles col-
lided. The car wound up on its roof in the ditch trap-
ping the two inside.
Pritchard and his passenger, Janice Pritchard; 20,
were treated for minor injuries. Morley was not hurt.
Morley is charged with fail to stop and open liquor
after an open beer bottle was found in his truck,
London OPP Const. Doug Graham said.
