Exeter Tyke Power Puck hockey player Leroy

Rec Centre.The Power Pucks went on to win the 'A'
final over the Exeter Little Hawks.The Lucan
Lightning won the 'B' final over the Lucan Lasers. On
the Sr.Tyke side, the Mount Brydges Cougars won the
'A' final over the Exeter Bombers and the Mount
Brydges Gold won the 'B' final over London

Zurich skaters shine
SARNIA - Zurich and Area Figure
Skating Club members performed well
at the Western Ontario Section Winter
Invitational competition (WOSWI) in
Sarnia on the weekend.
Sarah -Rae Lovie brought home gold in Gold Ladies
Elements while Jenna Becker and Scott Kipfer won
bronze in Pre -Preliminary C and Pre -Preliminary A
respectively.
Other results: Jenna DeGroot, fourth Pre -Preliminary
A; Lisa Forrest, fifth Jr. Bronze B; Megan Gingerich,
seventh Jr. Bronze B; Megan Hearn, fifth Pre -
Preliminary B; Maegan Kipfer, fifth Pre -Preliminary A.
Figure skating fans are reminded the Zurich and
Area Figure Skating Carnival is March 28 at 2 p.m. at
the Zurich Arena.
Exeter skaters shine too
SARNIA - Exeter Figure Skating Club members
showed off their skills at the WOSWI competition in
Sarnia on the weekend:
Shannon Clarke won gold in Pre -Preliminary B and
Brenda Anstett won gold in Jr. Bronze B. Michelle
Murphy won gold in Jr. Bronze Elements and placed
fifth in Jr. Bronze B. Jessica Hall also won gold in Pre -
Preliminary A.
Wanted - female ball players
EXETER - If you're a girl aged 9-13 and you like
baseball, Exeter Minor Baseball wants you.
Exeter Minor Ball president Dave Reid hopes to put
together one or two girls teams this season in either
hardball or softball.
Girls interested in playing baseball this season should
attend the last registration at South Huron Rec Centre
on Saturday between 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
If you can't make the registration, call either Reid at
235-0670 (work) or 235-4154 (home) or Albert
VanDyken at 235-1704 to register.
Cost ranges from $60-$80 depending on player age.
Five teams in OMHA finals
LUCAN/HURON PARK - Five Times -Advocate
coverage area hockey teams, including a whopping
four from Lucan, are entering Ontario Minor Hockey
Association all -Ontario championship final series.
The Lucan 'DD' Atom A/Es have P.lreadys arted their
final series versus Frankford. Lucan won game one 3-2
in overtime at Frankford on Saturday and lost 3-2 in
Frankford Sunday (for more game details, see Minor
Hockey Scoreboard).
Game three of the six point series is at Lucan Arena
Friday at 7:30 p.m. and game four is Saturday at
Lucan Arena at 12:30 p.m.
The Lucan Bantams host Mariposa Friday at 9 p.m.
and Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
The Lucan Atoms host Tweed Saturday and Sunday,
both games at 5:15 p.m.
The Lucan Novices host Embro Saturday at 2 p.m. No
other games in that series were announced at press.
The Stephen Township Atom Super Sonics host West
Muskoka Saturday at 4 p.m: and Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
All are six point series where winning teams get two
points for a win and each team gets one point for a tie.
