According to clerk - treasurer Luanne Phair, who informed council of the change at Monday's meeting, the MOEE will only grant a Certificate of Approval for the site if garbage is being covered up on the same day it is received. Phair said gar- bage now being collected on Mondays at the site is being covered on Wednesdays after village garbage collection. To comply with the MOEE, effective April 1, the village's landfill site will be open Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. so garbage can then be immediately covered. In other notes from Monday's council meet- ing: Village to update com- puter Phair said the pro- vincial government is hoping to get all mu- nicipalities on-line so that all communications can be accomplished on the Internet. To get this done, the province is providing funding for municipalities to up- grade their computers. Hensall is eligible for up to $6,000 in funds for computer enhancement. The village's computer needs: Pentium -level speed, 32 MB RAM mem- ory, Windows '95, a CD ROM and a 28.8 BPS mo- dpni. It must also be Y2K 7. apt. The village's nil_ er falls short be - 'so it is not Y2K com- pliant, has insufficient memory and no modem or CD POM. Council gave Phair the go-ahead to upgrade the computer.
