President Bridge Groot welcomed the members. The Zurich Lions Club are planning a Prospective'. Members Night at the Dominion Tavern on March 10, beginning with dinner at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Lion Bruce Murray of St. Marys. He will speak about how Lionism bene- fits the community. The meeting will be open to anyone interested in being a Lion. The Zurich Club will be cele- brating their 55th anniversary this year. The next fair board meeting will be held at the Hay Township Hall on March 29 at 8 p.m. The Zurich Cubs are getting ready for the. Kub Kar Rally at Zurich Arena on March 13. The boys, along with the Hensall pack, will be practicing for the race at the Blue Water Rest Home on March 10. The Bayfield Figure Skating Carnival will be held at the arena on March 7 at 2 p.m. with the theme "A Walk Down Main Street." For more information call Deb Telford at 236-7020. Members of the Boys Club of the Mennonite Church held a family skating party at the arena on Saturday night. The MYF's group enjoyed a volleyball game against their parents on Friday night. Earl and Marg Horner, Zurich and Mona and Erle Hamilton of Ailsa Craig spent a two-week vacation at Myrtle Beach recently. A retirement party was held for Barb Sheppard, head nurse at the Blue. Water )gest Home for nearly 30 years. Her last day on the job was February 26. The resi- dents had a farewell party for her in the morning and staff members put on a party in the afternoon. The Boar4l of Directors also held a get-together in her honour recently. She lives in Grand Bend with husband Doug at Turnbull's Grove. Mozart and Marie Gelinas spent Sunday in Dorchester at the home of son Marc and Cindy Gelinas and family. The Orvilles from Dashwood won the A Championship at the Grand Bend Winter Carnival snow -pitch tournament. To celebrate Valentine's Day the hall was tastefully decorated with hearts and cupids. During the month Jean Hodgert, Maxine Sereda, Josie Ryckman and Wilma Davis presided, in turns, at the keyboard. A 50/05 draw was won by Winona Hoffman. Get well cards were signed for Ann Elberhardt, Georgina Engler, Erlma Keller and Elsie Jory. A sympathy card was also signed for Elsie Jory, following the death of her sister. Prize winners during the month were Rev. Miner, Gloria Chambers, Ruth Brock, Jennie Harris, Jean Hodgert, Hazel Miller and Jeanette Ducharme. Birthday greetings were sung for Gloria Chambers, Jennie Harris and George Vanhorne. Two readings were given and a Valentine quiz conducted by Faye Skinner. Peter Snell entertained with gui- tar and vocal selections; one of which was his composition of "Wiarton Willie." February begin designated as Heart Month was a suitable time to hear Ann Hailee's presentation of Healthy Hearts. Lesie Showers from Investors Group, together with a co-worker explained how financial services help in managing money matters. They stressed the impor- tance of giving someone trustworthy, the power of attorney and having an up-to- date will. S;;udents from the Precious Blood School entertained with competitive pub- lic speeches which everyone enjoyed. A foot care clinic is held the first Tuesday of each month.
