New trustee welcomed

SEAFOR'FII - A new trustee was welcomed to the
Avon Maitland District School Board last Tuesday
night.
Margaret Laprade, a longtime resident of the St.
Marys area, was appointed to the board, following
the resignation of former trusteen Leslie Wood.
She will represent West Perth, Perth South and
St. Marys for the two years remaining in the term -
of the board.
Laprade has been an active parent volunteer at
South Perth Centennial School and St. Marys
District Collegiate and Vocational Institute.

Saturday evening a
surprise birthday party
was held for Hazel
Davis at St. Patricks
marking her 39+ birth-
day. The Parish Hall
was decorated for the
occasion.
Evening Prayer was
held by Rose
Cunningham assisted
by Margaret Carroll
reading the scriptures.
Cunningham gave the
message and also pre-
sented Good News
Bibles to church
servers Courtney
MacGillivray, Crystal
Davis and Katie -
Scarlett MacGillivray
gifts from the
C u n n i n g h a m s.
Childrens focus was
given by Hazel Davis.
Service closed with
prayers and hymn.
Service next week
March 7, The Rev.
Stanley Jay will be at
St. Patricks to cele-
brate the Holy
Eucharist 3rd Sunday
in Lent. Everyone was
invited to the parish
hall for refreshments.
Guests along with con-
gregation included
Joyce and Ralph
Simpson, Audrey
McFalls with family
David, Darin, Don,
Brenda, Ben, Nick and
Matt McFalls.
Davis thanked every-
one for coming and
making her birthday so
special. Happy birthday
wishes were also
enjoyed by Travis and
Starr Davis who were
celebrating their birth-
days on Sunday.

Hirtzel for the birthday
banner and to Allan
Cunningham for the
lawn sign.
The Davis's enjoyed
family get togethers
earlier in the week cel-
ebrating Hazel's,
Travis and Starr's
birthdays and Michael
and Suzanne's anniver-
sary.

over Saturday. Sunday
the Davis' attended
service at Christ
Anglican Church in
London at 11 a.m. hon-
ouring The Rev. Greg
Smith on the 20th
anniversary of his ordi-
nation. '
Hugh Davis and
Margaret Carroll were
warden at St. Patricks
during the time Rev.
Smith was rector in the
Parish of Kirkton, St.
Patricks and Granton.
A surprise reception
followed.
Sunday evening
Ralph, Joyce and
Darren Simpson visited
the Davis's to honour
Hazel's birthday.
