"I have only positive things to say about Marcy," Miller said. "She's extremely dedicat- ed to the sport and expects the same dedica- tion and determination from her students. She's a coach who truly cares,. nor just about the stutters- skating k r s - skating ability but MM. the skater as a person." Miller also thanked her family for the love and support they have shown throughout her skating career. Skating since she was five, Miller has her sights on passing her gold free skate next month. The hunt . for an ice dancing partner is a long and hard one, but she's confident one will be found in time for the nationals. Recently Miller travelled to Ottawa for the '99 Bank of Montreal Figure Skating Championships and skated at the partner tryouts. In the junior/senior category there were over 30 girls and three boys looking for partners, a disparity that shows the disadvantage. girls have finding a com- patible partner. To achieve what she has so far, Miller skates four to five hours a day five or six days a week. She also spends one and a half to two hours in the gym training four or five days a week. When not on the ice or training,. Miller is taking fitness and training through FanshaWe College. She hopes to someday help other skaters on their way to excellence. "I'd like to coach figure skaters some day and work=with them off the ice on training," she said. Seven Exeter skaters off to regionals ST.
