Bob Mittleholtz was a success at St. Boniface. Parish. Money donations are still being accepted by the C.W.L. The winners from two draws were: Annie VanRaay, RR #3 Dashwood, winning a flap- per doll; and Alicia Pennings, RR #1 Zurich who won a fruit basket. Quilters are welcome at the home of Martha Overholt on February 16 and 17 beginning at 9 a.m. to work on the C.W.L. bean festival quilt. Cash register slips can be put in the box at Seyler's Foodland, Zurich to help the Skating Club. Grade 7 and 8 students of St. Boniface School will be holding a youth group meeting on February 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a video and a spe- cial speaker. On February 19 grades 5 and 6 classes will be hav- ing a youth group lock -in in the •pchool gym from 7 to 10 p.m. The Zurich Cubs have been busy at their weekly meetings every. On February 18 they are going swimming at Kick's pool in Exeter and the boys are' to .meet at the school by. 6:15 p.m. and will return at 8:30 p.m. On February 22 the Scouting movement will be celebrating Lord Baden Powel's birthday, the founder of the Scouting movement. The Lions Club held a meeting and supper at the Dominion Tavern on February 10 with Lion chief John Becker of Dashwood conducting the business. The group decided to donate $250 to the Zurich Agricultural Society and to pay for an ad in the skat- ing club's carnival pro- gram on March 28. Lion Wayne McKinnon will represent the club at Big Brothers and Big Sisters Bowl for Millions at Town and Country Lanes on March 7 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Their next regular meet- ing will be held on March 10 at 7 p.m. It is also a 'prospective member night'. Everyone is wel- come. The next Golden Agers progressive euchrk and card party will be held at the township hall on February 22 at 7:30 p.m. The cost will be $3, which includes lunch. On February 23 the K. of C. of St. Boniface Parish will host a card party in the hall at 8 p.m. follow the 7:30 p.m. mass. TM' cost is $2 at the door. Personals An 85th birthday party and open house was held for Madeline Rau on February 14 at St. Peter's Parish Hall, St. Joseph. Leona Corriveau of Windsor and son Joe and Regina Corriveau spent Sunday and Monday in the area and helped Madeline Rau celebrate her birth- day. • Happy birthday wishes go to Ray Hartman who celebrated his 65th birth- Winning word searcher day on February 12, A family get-together and Sunday Brunch was held on February 14. Jerome and Carmel Sweeney enjoyed a Valentine dinner and dance in Goderich at the K. of C. Hall on Friday evening. It was also a ser- vice awards night for some staff at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Barb O'Connor of Illinois is visiting with her mother Gerry Kane and attended the funeral of her uncle, Leeland Surerus • on February 9. Congratulations is extended to Gwen Lynn of R.R.#2 Lucan as she receives her "Chicken Soup for the Couple's Soul" and Valentine Gift Basket from TA employee, Carol Windsor.
