THAMES ROAD - The
Feb. meeting of the
U.C.W. was held on
Tuesday evening in
Elimville.

The Stewardship and
Finance Committee was
in charge of the meeting.
Marilyn Pym led in
prayer. Marjorie_Johns
accompanied on the
piano for the singing of
"Take My Life and Let It
Be". Anne Kernick. read
the Scripture followed by
a Stewardship reading.
The offering was received
by Stewart and Kernick
with offertory prayer by
Pym.
Janet Coward gave a
talk on Stewardship with
the women in the audi-
ence taking part, each
one asking her neighbour
about her talents and
sharing them. Stewart
read an interesting poem.
The group sang "Savior
Teach Me Day by Day".
Kernick read "A Story for
Valentine's Day".
Pym also did a reading,
"Some Things Don't
Change". Jean Hodgert
the president, opened the
business part of the meet-

"Message of the New
Year". The group then
repeated the United
Church Women's
Purpiose. Diane Jeffery
took the roll call which
was answered by 28
women, each naming a
charity or a mission.
The correspondence
was dealt with. Marilyn
Pym gave the treasurers
report. The standing com-
mittees were called upon
to give reports.
The Strawberry Supper

The Blue Moon Banquet
was discussed. Janis
Richardson gave a report
of the annual meeting of
the U.C.W. Presbytery
held at Centralia Church
with the Zion women

The .World Day of
Prayer Service is to be
held in Thames Road
Church on March 5 at 2
p.m.
The group have been
asked to cater to a wed-
ding reception lunch in
Hensall in July.
The U.C.W. are catering
to the Oddfellows banquet
at Kirkton on March 27.
The meeting closed with
reading the U.C.W.
Prayer.
Group C served dessert
and beverage which
brought the meeting to a
close.
Church service
Thames Road-Elimville
Church service on Sunday
was conducted by Rev.
Marilyn Carter at Thames
Road.
• Rev. Carter told the
youth a story. The choir
sang "Come and Dine"
accompanied by the
organist Jean flodgert.
Rev. Carter read the
Scripture. The title of the
sermon was "Where Love
Is, God Is."
Barry and Diane Jeffrey
received the offering as
well as being the
greeters.
Rev. Carter conducted
the Communion Service
with Robert Bray, Bruce
Delbridge and Judith
Parker serving commu-
nion. •,
The c1�ing hymn
"Guide Me 0 Thou,Great
Jehovah" was sung and
the Commissioning and
Benediction were said.
During the church ser-
vice the Sunday School
students and teachers
made Valentine's for the
people in the congrega-
tion and the proceeds
were being given to the
burn unit of the hospital
in memory of the late
Dennis Hutton. After the
service the Sunday School
teachers and students
had refreshments.

HURON PARK — One or more break-in artists had a
heyday in Huron Park in the early morning hours
Thursday.
Someone broke into four vehicles parked, along
