New Mt. Carmel C.W.L. executive elected
MT. CARMEL - At a
February Mass Fr. Paul
Baillargeon conducted the
installation of the newly
elected executive of the
Mt. Carmel C.W.L.
President Sharon Blake
was presented with the
gavel. Members came for-
ward for the "League
Promise", passing of the
candles and prayers. Fr.
Baillargeon asked the
assembly to show
approval and pray for the
executive in their work.
At the meeting following
Mass, President Blake
welcomed the new mem-
bers: 'Past president Diane
Kaak, First vice president
and recording secretary
Betty Cronyn, Second vice
president Jeanine
Vanneste, treasurer
Barbara Hartman, corre-
spondence Judy Steeper,
Special committees:
Education - Sue Muller;
Spiritual Life - Bev
Moreau; Community Life -
Fran Roelands; and
Parish activities - Diana
Hardy.
Bev Moreau gave a
reading and scriptures.
Betty Cronyn read the
minutes and Barb
Hartman gave the trea-
surer's report.
The C.W.L. annual con-
vention is planned for
April 26 to 28 in Windsor.
Jeanine Vanneste volun-
teered to give a reading at
the World Day of Prayer
on March 5 at Immaculate
Heart of Mary, Grand
Bend. The annual Fun
Nite is planned for
February 3 m St. Marys.
The group received
thank you letters from
'Save a Family Plan', 'Holy
Childhood', 'VON
Palliative Care' and
`Exeter Food Bank' for
Hurondale WI hold January meeting

W.I. met at the home of
Helen Webber on Jan. 27.
Twelve members and one
visit )r enjoyed dessert
after which President Fern
Dougall opened the meet-
ing.
Guest speaker Rosemary
Armstrong of Clinton
spoke on the Huron Adult
Day Centre Program in
Huron County. A one day
program is being held at
the Christian Reformed
Church in Exeter for resi-
dents of this district.
Armstrong was given a
donation from the W.I.
The president read as
poem to open the business
followed by the Institute
Ode and Mary Stewart
Collect. Roll call - "What
you would do first if your
house was on fire" was
answered by all members.
A committee was named
to look after the 80th
anniversary and the dis-
play for Exeter Fair. A
special meeting will be
held to make articles for
the plowing match
Helen Webber opened
the program on "Safety"
with a reading. Bev
Campbell gave the motto
"Take a second look - you
haven't a second life".

McFalls and Gladys
Richardson. Marilyn Pym
gyve an interesting article
on "T' lking with Sprint"
and Helen Webber a read-
ing on Calico Collections.

Teresa Larkin gave a
report from the January
30 Diocesan meeting. The
theme was "People of
God" and "A Time for
Healing". This year will be
the "Year of the Elder
Person" with a report on
"Jubilee 2000".
The group approved a
donation for a bus trip to
Merlin for the students of
Mt. Carmel, being orga-
nized by Cecile Muller.
They decided to have a
silver collection instead of
lunch at meetings.
Jeanine Vanneste had a
February birthday and an
anniversary celebration.
Helene Regier won a door
prize.
