The OHL Jr, A Ottawa '67s defenceman was at the family home for a cou- ple of days on Jan. 22 when he broke his ankle in the driveway on his way to the car. The good news is MacLean, 20, is on the mend and should be back in the '67s lineup in three weeks. He is set to. begin skating on March 2. The injury comes at a bad time for MacLean since the '67s are competing for the top spot in Canadian junior hockey and will host the Memorial Cup from May 15-25. MacLean is expect- ed to be fully recovered by the time the regular season ends on March 19. "It feels good," MacLean said of his recovery, espe- cially after a London spe- cialist told him he could begin skating a week ahead of schedule on Monday. MacLean has been putting in a regular shift with the '67s and has a goal and two assists since he was picked up late last year from the Kitchener Rangers. Brydges at Stephen, 11:30-a.m. MacLean recovering well from broken ankle OTTAWA — Exeter's own Jeff MacLean got a break of the nasty kind while spend- ing a couple days off at .home last month.
