Synchronized skating
competition glides in
EXETER — Synchronized skating
fans will get a treat Feb 20.
The Exeter Synchronized Skating Club hosts the
Bernie Deveau Memorial Adult Synchronized •
Skating Competition that day starting at 8 a.m.
which lasts throughout the day at South Huron
Rec Centre.
The competition will feature 29 competitive and
recreational teams from throughout Ontario and
Quebec.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and
students and free to children five and under.
3 -on -3 tourneys swarm Lucan
LUCAN — 3 -on -3 hockey will be back in Lucan.
3 -on -3 Hockey International is hosting tourna-
ments at LucaniSt. Marys April 16-18, at Lucan
April 30 -May 2 and at Cambridge May 7-9.
Divisions offered are all youths born in 1992 up
to 1981/82 (competitive and house league), all
women's/girls, men's elite open, men's recreation-
al, men's over 30, Jr. C%D and a high school chal-
lenge.
Entry is $300 per team with four games guaran-
teed. 'Teams are to be made up of up to nine
skaters plus a goalie.

Boys curling _rink advances to
regionals in Vanastra
EXETER — The South Huron District High School
boys curling rink won the '13' final of the recent
Gore Mutual bonspiel and now advance to the
regionals at Vanastra this weekend.
The rink members are skip Jayden Russell, vice
Ryan Munn, second Jason Miles, lead Matt Alce
and spare Adam Verhoog. The rink is coached by
Bill Urquhart.
The rink lost their first game to Wingham F.E.
Madill but then won their next five matches to
advance to the regionals. SHDHS beat London
John Paul II, Seaforth, Palmerston, Clinton Central
Huron and then Madill in the 'B' final.

at Seaforth Curling Club.
Russell's rink advances tti the Gore regionals this
weekend and the Huron playdowns Monday and
Tuesday, both at Vanastra Curling Club.
The SHDHS/Exeter Curling Club girls team of
skip Beth -Ann Hern, vice Laura Miller, second
Marilou Hern and lead Jenni DeBlock also
advances to the Gore regionals this weekend and
the Huron playdowns, both at Vanastra.

Zurich skaters find H.O.11.E.
ST. THOMAS — Several Zurich and Area Figure
Skating Club members excelled at teh St. Thomas
H.O.M.E. (Huron, Oxford, Middlesex, Elgin) compe-
tition on the weekend.
Heidi Klopp and dance partner Skylar VanOsch
won gold in the P.Q. Pre -Juvenile Dance. Klopp
also won gold in the Pre -Preliminary 'B'.
Klopp and VanOsch now head to the Western
Ontario Section Interclub Championship in
Goderich March 7/8.
•Alyssa Nicholls won gold in Canskate 'B' and
Matthew Nicholls won gold in Canskate 'B' men's;
Scott Kipfer won silver in Pre -Preliminary 'A'
men's while sister Meagan won bronze in Pre -
Preliminary 'A'; Tanya Prang won gold in Pre -
Preliminary 'C'; Sarah -Rae Lovie won bronze in
P.Q. Gold; non -medal placements: Lisa Forrest,.

Hamilton's Glendale club.The rink is coached by
Urquhart and Hamilton's John Duguay.Webber and
Urquhart will face seven rinks from throughout
Ontario includingVanastra, Ottawa, Oakville and
Uniondale ;at the provincials.

Brantford Echo Lanes.

12, and Ange Cregan, 16,
won the girls division of the
four game, pins over aver-
age, Y.B.C. Ontario Combo
championship by bowling a
sizzling 541 pins above
their combined team aver-
age.

Finals, held in Brantford on Jan. 31. Team members
