Pancake supper to be held in Centralia United Church

CENTRALIA - The children in the Sunday School at
Centralia United Church enjoyed a fun night on
January 27. Minister Heather Scott showed everyone
how to make tin can lanterns.
January 31, the fourth Sunday in Epiphany was cele-
brated. Minister Scott's sermon was entitled "God
Wants You". The scripture was read responsively.
Annual reports are now available. The annual meet-
ing will be held at Centralia on February 3 at 8 p.m.
On February 4, Centralia UCW will hold their meet -
ing at the church at 8 p.m.
The annual Family Night Potluck will be held at Zion
West United Church February 5, at 7:15 p.m.
A special offering will be held on February 7.
Donations for the Mission and Service Fund will be
directed to support the victims of Hurricane Mitch in
Central America.
Zion West UCW women will host the Huron -Perth
Presbyterial UCW Annual Meeting at Centralia United
Church on February 8. Registration will begin at 9 a.m.
The Rev. Cheryl -Ann Sadelbauer-Samp will be the
Bible Study leader. All women are welcome to share in
the music, worship, study and Holy Communion.
February 15, the Centralia Sunday School will host a
Valentine's Day luncheon following worship.
The beginning of Lent will be celebrated with the
annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and worship
on February 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets for adults
are $5. and $2.50 for children 6 to 12. For tickets, con-

Helen MacDonald and Howard Dolan. The lone hand
winners were Kay Blair and Jim Davis. Doreen
Lightfoot and Clare Wright had the low points for the

Theft of truck
Some time between 10
p.m. on Jan. 23 and 2
p.m. on Jan. 24 thieves
stole a grey 1990 Toyota
4 Runner. The vehicle
was stolen from a resi-
dence on Columbia Dr. in
Huron Park. The vehicle
was locked with the alarm
set and no keys in the
truck. The licence plate is
726SKA.
Theft from vehicle
Culprits stole an
Alpine CD player and grey
toolbox with tools from a
vehicle at a residence on
Algonquin Dr. in Huron
Park. The theft took place
on Jan. 23 possibly
between 2 and 3 a.m. as a
vehicle was heard going
up and down the'sti*et:
Stolen snowmobile
found burning
On Jan. 16, at about 4
a.m., a citizen contacted
Huron OPP about a snow-
mobile burning on Conc.
2, Morris Twp. near
Wingham. The witness
advised the offices that at
3:35 a.m. he was on his
way into Wingham when
he came across the snow-
mobile sitting on the side
of the road with the hood
up and no one around. He
was returning home one
half hour later to find that
the snowmobile was
engulfed in flames. The
next day the snowmobile
was reported stolen from
Listowel. The machine
was a black 1991 Polaris
Indy 650:
Money stolen from
classroom
A theft was reported
that had occurred at the
Clinton Public School on
Percival Street. A grade 8
teacher left an envelope
with $230 sitting on his
desk in the classroom.
When he returned later
the money was missing.
The theft occurred some-
time between Jan. 7-12.
