There Mil be a new combina- tion Book and Tuck Cart and aromatherapy sup- plies available. In the afternoon, staff and vol- unteers Mary Cole, Betty Simmons and Edna Deitz, packed away the Christmas decorations. The Tuesday worship service was led by Rev. Peebles of Exeter with Delve Fuss as organist. In the evening the Christian Reformed Singers presented their monthly program of music which the resi- dents enjoy singing along with. Current events and brain teasers kept resi- dents thinking Wednesday morning, - Brian Greenhill searches the Internet for new, challenging material for the quiz time. Due to inclement weather, the party planned for Thursday with the Nashville FIs was rescheduled for January 21. The band travels from Goderich and Blyth. Instead, the video 'Abraham" was shown. Friday morning there was a Fun and Fitness Ovation for working the body and mind. In the afternoon, library hour Was held and resident* had an opportunity t peruse the 12 publica- tions that arrive each month and discuss the articles that interested them. The article about the connection between Sethinar offered at Blue Water Rest Home ZURICH - The residents of Blue Water Rest Home were entertained by the Auxiliary members on January 5. Rev. Reynold Kipfer, interim Minister at Zurich Mennonite Church led in prayer prior to the installa- tion of the new executive for 1999. 'Mary Ellen Gingericb as pianist and Pearl Ann Martin as organist accompanied the carol group of Carol Steckle, Esther Gingerich, Ginny Steckle and Arlene Snyder. Lunch was served by Mary (Calvin) Gingerich, Verde Baechler, Helen Otterbein and Martha Risi. Tuesday the residents gathered In the auditorium to play rhythm instruments. Wednesday, the resi- dents: had afternoon tea in the auditorium. ;Friday evening everyone gathered for the game of binge. Evangelist Arnold. Gratton, Gospel Hall, Grand Land conducted Thursday afternoon Chapel Service. Fr. Matthias Wronski, St. Boniface Church, Zurich celebrated Mass. Saturday many of the female residents received a manicure by the attending Adjuvant and Sunday afternoon the residentsgathered in the west wing lounge for tea. Welcome to new resident FIorence (Flo) Pearl Cudmore of Grand Bend, mother of Shirley Tiernan, and grandmother to Michael and Gary Tiernan and Janice Regier. January- 11 the home hosted the first seminar on Restorative Care Education and Training Intervention Course sponsored by The Centre for Activity and Ageing which is affiliated with The Lawson Research institute of the St. Joseph's Health Center and the Faculties of Health Sciences and Medicine at the University ofWestern Ontario. Four additional sessions will be held January 19 at Maitland Manor Versa Care, Goderich, January 26 at Huronview, Clinton, February 3 at Exeter Villa andi'February 9 at Seaforth Manor. The course is designed for leadership to Adjuvants and Registered Nurse Practitioners and two staff from the Home are taking part, Adjuvants' Cathy Shantz and Charlene Finkbeiner. The residents look forward to a January birthday party with Calvary United Church, Dashwood on January 12, a salt and pepper demonstration on January 3, a mitt and glove display on January 15. Marilyn Carter was in charge of the postponed church service on Sunday at Elimville Church with a fair attendance; After singing the Introit Rev. Carter gave greetings, wel- come and the announcements. Rev. Carter lit the Christ Candle with the help of Cory Smith. Carter taillike youth a story "The Best Gift of All." The choir sang "A Star Shines Bright" accompa- nied by the pipaiStMarilyn Vandenbussche. The title of Wel,. Carter's sermon wag "Hiring. Yourself". Elson Lynn and Larry Lynn received the offering as well as being the greeters. John Iden pushed the cart forward with donations to the Food Bank. The congregation reed the Commissioning and the Benediction. The flowers at the front of the church were placed there in memory of the late Muriel Martin, Bev. Parsons and Bill Lamport by their families. Sympathy is extended to their families. Life and work of the congregation The postponed Standing Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday January 13 at 7 p.m. fol- lowed by the Council meeting at 8:30 p.m. at Thames Road church. The Installation Service of the UCW will take place next Sunday, Jan. 17 during the church service. The Senior Youth Group will be going to the movies on Jan. 19. For more information call Kathy Bray. Personas Several people attended the funeral of Beverly Parsons on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday area people attended the funeral of William Lamport. Beatrice Dawson attended church on Sunday after her recent serious operation. Jean Masten of Richmond Hill is visiting her sister and brother-in-law Murray and Beatrice Dawson. Get well wishes are extended to Glenn Jeffery. He returned home on Friday from South Huron Hospital, Exeter.
