Christmas dinner
at Queensway
I II:NSALI• - Queensway's family Christmas dinner
was held Sunday, December 6 and without a doubt
was the highlight of the week. • Bill Gibson and
Joyce'Pepper provided music throughout the tradi-
tional dinner. Residents were excited to play host
to family and friends who joined them for the deli=
rious meal and 'entertainment. It is gratifying to
,1 a such a great turnout when staff and volunteers
make such an effort to make it' a success.
Residents of Queensway enjoyed a very musical
week with the, Exeter Community Choir, Christian
Reformed Singers and Grand Cove Choir providing
programs of song throughout the week. • Everyone
is getting into the Christmas spirit with all the car-
olling.
Winnie Dutton. pastoral cafe volunteer led - the
nvorship service 'Tuesday afternoon with 13elva I:uss
as organist. There was ekcellent attendance at the
•service as residents gathered to hear the Christmas
story.
Hilda Payne gave a travelogue at Friendship
Friday about her relent trip to the Agawa Canyon.
She gave Many interesting observations and
hutuourous anecdotes about the trip. She also had
pictures• to show of the -highlights. Following
I'ayne•s presentation Gloria \Vilbee of the Walton
area sang and itee'limpanied herself on guitar. She
presented a Variety of country and %s'estern, con-
temporary, and gospel songs with a few Christmas
carols for good measure.
Old-fashioned Christmas tree burning planned

VARNA CORRESPONDENT
VARNA - Church service was in Varna on Sunday for
the third Sunday of Advent. Rod, Lori, Katrina,
McKayla and .Brianne Merner lit the Candle of Joy.
Flowers placed in the sanctuary were in memory of
Beatrice Young. Our sympathy is extended to her fami-
lies.
Christmas Sunday is Sunday Dec. 20 in Goshen
Church. The Candlelight
Service will be held Dec. 24 at 7:30 in the Varna
Church.
Sympathy is also extended to the Bob and June
Webster on the loss of their niece.
Huron Centennial School will be having short
Christmas assemblies each morning this week from
Mon - Thursday at 9 a.m. Everyone welcome!
On Dec 17 Goshen U.C.W. meet at the home of Jean
Bennett at 7 -p.m. The meeting begins with a light
meal. The main course is provided and everyone is to
bring dessert. The program and business to follow din-
ner. -
Friday, Dec. 18 the Trends will meet at the Brucefield
Church to make ginger bread houses.
You can still order your amaryllis bulbs to support
the Iluntington Society. Please give Bill "Taylor a ring at
233-3276. This would make a good last minute
Christmas gilt.

There will be a Good Olel Fashioned Christmas Tree
burning on Saturday. Jan. 2 at 7 p.m at the Stanley
Township Complex. Admission to be a donathon of a
non-perishable item for the loodbank. Hot dogs and •
drinks.pr'ovided. This is sponsored by the Stanley •
Township Recreation Committee. Everyone welcome!
