We had a successful day; for Ayden
l3yle's Gross Canada Run for
Diabetes Researr'h. the Jug Band
played to a'fu)J house and this com-
ing week -end. ,the branch is holding
a 11-1341 to raise funds kir the Huron
County Christmas 'Bureau. Everyone
is welcome and we will be accepting
non=perishable goods and toys for this
worthy causes. Eugene and Anne
Hartman will be providing entertain -
mem and this is all free starting at 4:00
pm on Saturday Dei:. 12.

At the recent Remembrance Day Banquet we were pleased to award Life.

ZURICH - The residents of Blue Water
Rest Home and their family enjoyed din-
ner and fellowship on Sun. Nov. 29. The
Rest Home had a total of 471 people for,
dinner .includingstaf.
The afternoon entertainment was pro-
vided by three separate groups each
with one hour of musical talent.. Pearl
Martin on piano and Grace Martin on
organ started the program.: They were
followed by. two Grand Bend talented
women - Wendy O'Connor playing the
harp and Lyn Tremain on flute.'The
third group was made up of young
Zurich talent Shelley Hoffman and her
students' Ashley . and Courtney'. Overholt
and Laura Coleman playing the piano
and son Justin Hoffman playing the sax-
ophone.
Santa Claus made his appearance
from the North Pole to wish everyone a
Merry Christmas. especially those con-
fined to their rooms. -
Sun.. Nov. 22 some residents attended
Sunday morning service at Zurich
Mennonite Church. .
No 23 the residents enjoyed an after-
noon of bowling at the Zurich• Bowling
Lanes: Jean topped the score with 132.
followed by Mabel Kyle. Barry Maas.
Ethel Moore, Neil Mustard. Carman
Luvie and Stewart Thiel. Adjuvant Cathy
Shantz and:volunteers Marion Michael
and Barb Coker. assisted the residents.
Emmanuel United Church, Zurich;
with Chair Helen Cunsitt and pianist
Grace Martin entertained the residents
sur their November Birthday party. Tyler
- Markham played a piano solo. Grace
Wallin and Mary Lou Lit- played piano
and organ duet, Joyce .Kirk provided
readings, Hilda Lansbergen led prayer,
and the group provided a musical story.
They were also entertained by Davey'
Crockett. The auxiliary' provided small
gifts for birthday celebrants' William
l:eibald,'Yhilippa Sterkle, Beatrice
Reader, Pearl Miller: Muriel Carson.*
Stewart Thiel. Carman Luvie and
Marguerite Hedley.
Afternoon tea Noy ..25 came with a
new flavour. The theme of the afternoon
was aprons worn by the ladies of the
last century. Aprons brought back fond
memories fie- many residents as they •
remembered the many years of their
culinary experiences m the kitchen and
the many aprons they had worn over,the
years. _ ,

were eliminated two
weeks ago but at
Monday's meeting. Exeter
• Council passed the bylaw
to eliminate six parking
spaces and add two new
spots along Main Street.
The areas affected are
on the east side of Hwy. 4
from Alexander St. E. to -
County Rd, 83 and in
• front -of Holtzma-nn's
1.G.A.
The bylaw eliminates
-One parking space in front
. of then 1.G.A. store.
Between -Alexander and
' Rd. 83, five spaces have.
been eliminated but two,,
will be added. ' '

efforts to make the new Exeter Parke the a focal Norm fur the
downtown area. The gual.uf $40,000 is almost in sight but
your help is needed'to make' the project a sp.( cess. A tax
deductible contribution of $100, $ 500 or $1000 will ensure •
a'permtnent record of your support because your name wall
be carved in stone in one of the pathways-. What anexcellent
