reports will be sent home on
Wednesday. Nov. 18th.
• Students will bring their
report ,home and we look. for-
ward to meeting parents Monday.
November 23. between 5:30 P.M.
and t; P.M: Parent can make their.
• appointment 'when they arrive. All
staff will be in the gymnasium and
will be able to spend x few minutes
with each .parent. Please plan your
intervievq' .with comments relevant to
the students current progress and
when you are done stop by ane• of,
ifet buottes set up for your informs -

School Advisor}' Committee (SAC).

teachers from the students' first
course, not their nevi' class .
The parent interview is best
prepared' for by parents dis-
cussing with the. student,
What they feel is a concern
in the subject studied.
Parents should ask about how
much bomewort is required in
any' given course. what the
teachers expectations are and share
any concerns they have about how
the student perceives their progress.
The parent has insights that they
need tel share if.W'hat teachers and
students do is to work
The parent interview may be
attended be the student. • It is ideal if
students feel comfortable discussing
their progress with both parents and
teachers present.
Take time to have a refreshment
and look around the .school. If you
have any concerns that you wish to
share .with' M,r.Cuntois or Mr.
McMillan. they also will be present
to discuss concerns With parents.

busy taking up a new concept in math.

Fun Night on Thursday night
Student council is
holding `Fun Night'
on Thurs.. Nov. •12.
Students may
remember this, night
from last year'. It
includes • activities
such as crown and
anchor... karaoke,
crokinole, chess, and
many more.
Some new exciting
events are the Equaliser. Laser Tag,
and Bungee Basketball. .Extra .tick=
ets cost 51 for three tickets. Tons -of
prizes will be given away at the end
of the night. A huge •crowd is
expected.. so come on out and enjoy
the fun!
. Once again. it is time to begin the
fundraising campaign at South
Huron and students will be selling
chocolates. The goal this year is
S18.000 and this will go toward
funding for competitive sports, intra --
mural sports. the arts, dances, spe-
cial events, and -many more`activi-
ties.
. There are three kinds of choco-
lates: mint smoothies, caramels, and
.chocolate almonds. -
. Prizes will be given to top sellers
and there will also be random draws
for those who bring their money in
quickly. The campaign starts on
Mune, Nov. 16. All students are
expected to participate, as this
money will benefit all areas of our
school.
The Senior Girls' cross-country
team' participated in OFSAA on the
weekend. Coach Joe Fulop claims,
"the girls did better than expected."
It was predicted they would achieve
16th place as a team,. but they man-
aged to achieve 13th. Four of the
Jive girls will be back next year for
another' season. Congratulations to
all five for an excellent season!

get involved. so come on out!
Ms. Burrell, drama teacher_ at
South Huron. is looking for real
ghost stories that ,have origins in
Huron -County. If you' have some
authentic mysterious tales, please
send them to the -high school or
contact Ms. Burrell. - These could be
used as a•basis for plays .which
would be presented in the communi-
ty. • • -
Calling on all poets and short story
writers, past -arid present, from
SHUNS. Ms. Burrell. Harmony
Spivey and Jessica Haddon are col-
lecting written works for a possible
book which will include writers'
work from South Huron. Please
send your poem or short story with
your name (and year of attendance
or graduation at the high school) to
South Huron. Only certain works
will be selected and entries unfortu-
nately cannot be returned. These
works are hoped to be professionally
printed in book form and sold to the
community to cover printing costs.
