I,UCAN - The Lucan Jr. 1) Irish hockey club
played two solid games• last week but managed only
a win and a loss.
The Irish slipped by 'Port Stanley 7-6 in t'ort's barn
on Friday. Lucan built a three goal lead by the end of
the first with goals by Mark Phillips (from Chad
Greenlee and Mike Jaremehenko), Matt Dale (unas-
sisted) and Derek Graansma (Scott Phillips, *)ale).
Port battled back to erase another Irish three goal
lead in the third period when it was 7-4, but Lucan
held on for tho win. Other Irish goals were scored by
Mark Phillips (Greenlee,. Greg llenderson),•Dale"
(Graansma), Justin Mulligan (Greenlee, Mark
Philips) and Henderson (Mulligan, Greenlee). .
Marc Williams faced 27 shots in his first game back
in the net for the Irish.
Lucan co -coach Jason Bukala said the win. over
Port was an important one. -
"(The Lakers) have some really good players you
have to key in on," he said. "It was a real good char-
acter builder to hold them back at 'the end of the
game."
Lucan came up against a hot goaltender at home
versus Lambeth last Wednesday in a 3-1 loss.
Lambeth •held a 2-0 lead till Andy Marshall scored
for Lucan at 12:07 of the third with assists by Bob
Grant and Neil Judson.
The win and loss brings Lucan's record to 5-6. The
Irish host Thamesford tonight at 8:15 p.m. and trav-
el to Seaforth on Friday and Lambeth on Sunday.
