Uprooted People' was the theme of
the service at Thames Road on
Sunday. •
Barry Miller.gave the welcome fol-
lowed by the Call to Worship by
Rev. Marilyn Carter. Mirjam:'
Veldman lit the Christ candle. Grace
Pym talked•to the children abqut the
globe, roots and uprooted and.
refugees. Kristy. Bray read "Jointing
Our Hands -for Uprooted People"
while some of the Sunday School
members performed a. skit. The.
choir sang an anthem accompanied
by organist Jean Hodgert.
Janis Richardson led the respon-
sive reading and read the scripture.
Miller introduced the guest speak-
er, Alfredo Marroquim. from Global
House in London. Marroquim origi-
nally came from El Salvador. Grace
Pym thanked him for attending their
service.
Melonie and Sarah Miller were the
greeters. •
Following the service refresh-
ments were served.

Anyone wanting the Upper Room
at $5.78 for a year, being 10 copies,

November 8.
Community of area churches
evening service will be on
November 1. at 7 p.rli. The speaker
will be Rev. William McAuslan'of
Wesley Willis U.C. in Clinton. There
will singing with the orchestra and
special anthems from the combined
choir. Lunch and fellowship will fol-
low the service.
Sunbeams will meet at Thames
Road on Thursday, November 5 at
9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Snacks and
crafts fer the children and coffee
and fellowship for the adults.
The reconstruction committee has
a suggestion box at the entrance of l

at 8 p:m. On program is Church In
Society, Helen Weston, Bev
Delbridge, Dorothy. Duncan, Jean
Hodgert and Judith Parker. Roll call
is 'bring a gift for the Christmas
Bureau'. Lunch by Group C.
On November 12, the Senior
Youth Group will meet from 6:30 to
8:30 p.m. at Thames Road. WAIS -
cuss ideas for upcoming meetings.
Novel ,1 "r- 14 is an evening of
"God; So and Other Stuff" of
comedy, tcters and cabaret,
"writt. perfored by Judy Savoy.
The pt ugram will be at the South
Huron. Rec Centre at 8 p.rn.

Halloween party
The 'Thames Road-Elimiville
Halloween Party was held in -
Thames Road church .on Friday
evening; There were 54 children
dressed up and 40 adults in atten-
dance. Rev. Marilyn Carter and
Marguereite Butler were the judges.

The Evening of Gospel Music in
Thames Road church on Sunday
night was a very big success. It was
