The program helps fund projects that explore. Canadian heritage.. and achievements- and looks to the future, according to a press release from the government. • Locally, the program provided $20,000 le. C• hil- dren's Aid of Huron and Rural Response for Healthy Children for the Earth Friendly Gardens Project. Last -spring a- project in McCurdy. Col- borne and Mount' Carmel schools was conducted, - to see if there would be community support for creating organic vegetable, gardens in school yards. The project, • funded' by Canadian Living foundation, was in response . to' the hunger ex- perienced 'by school children.
