A Point
ht to Ponder
In Max Lucado's "The
Great House of God" I find
these words so beautifully
expressed. "God's greatest
desire is .-to be your
dwelling place -the home
for your heart.
He doesn't want to be
merely a weekend get-
away. He has no interest
in being a Sunday bungs -
:low or even a summer
cottage. He wants to be
your mailing address,
your point of reference,
your home...always.
He wants you to live in
the -Great House of God,
the literal promise of His
Son: 'if my .people love
me, -they will obey my
teaching. My father will
love them and wewill
come to them and make
our home with 'them'
(John 14:23)....In God's
house, you're home. So
come into the house. built
just for you: Your Father
is waiting."
1 believe that every
human being on the face
of the earth has a "God
shaped vacuum inside,
yearning to be satisfied.
Some people recognize it.
Many .don't. Often we all
try to fill the void with
money, riches, status,
popularity, achievements,
academia, alcohol, drugs,
sex, etc. The point is that
only Jesus can satisfy that
empty longing within.
It's time to come home
to Father's house!
November,3 and quilts
must be registered by -
January 15.
Secretary Marilyn Pym
has been appointed to the
London Area Children's
Hospital Board.
There was an "In
Memoriam" and minute of
silence in .memory of
Helen Hodgert. .
June Stewart opened the
programme with a read-
ing, "Good Friends". Each
member of the committee
gave 'current events and
their motto. Stewart then
introduced President
in South Africa
Dougall as guest speaker.
The Dougalls travelled to
South Africa last spring
where Dougall attended
the W.IJA.C.C.W. conven-
tion. She told many
things about the conven-
tion and the number of=
countries that were repre-
sented. She shared her
snapshots of South Africa,
Kenya and other places.
