Crediton woman turns interest
in herbs into second job

Valorie Pooley has taken her 20
years of gardening knowledge and
opened Aux Fines Herbes from
her Victoria Street home.
Pooley, who grows. the herbs' in
her backyard, says she -can offer
customers More varieties of service
than. can 'a grocery store because
she will. sell customers any amount
of an herb they want: most grocery-
stores.

'Lucan council meeting reveals
concerns with new library
LUCAN — It seems not every-
one in Lucan is in favor of the new
' library project.
That revelation was brought'•for-
ward by tiouncillpr Perry Caskan-
ette at last week's council meeting.
The opposition isn't to Lucan get-
. ting a new and needed larger li-
brary. but un how the project is be-,
ing funded:
Council has appraved the project -
in principle and. has agreed to hold
a $500x1 loan for the Lucan Dis-
triet.Linns Club to help pay for the
$3(x),(xxl-total cost of the library to
