Baiersbronn cousins visiting
Germany .once again in 1999!
EXETER - Many local residents in the Exeter and Crediton arca are
descendants of families that emigrated from the Black Forest region in
Germain. There has been a great deal of effort made to maintain contact
with relatives in Germany. Last fall a group from the Finkheiner family in
German visited the Finkhciners in Crediton. Over the last few, years
there have hecn two successful tours from this area to the Baiershronn
area. Black Forest, Germany. • The previous tours focused on the Wein
family gatherings. However. it is well known that there- is a great deal of
crossover between the families.
'Baiersbronn Cousins' is a Netter description of the continued relations
between mane families in this arca with their relatives in Germany. Ellison
Tours made the tour arrangements for the two previous tours to Germany
as well as for the incoming group from German last fall. Once again
Ellison Tours has planned'thc next tour tci Germany which is open to
anyone that would like to participate As in the past. this tour will
combine family history with sightseeing. The tour will include stopovers
in the Black Forest. Germany and Lake Constance. Switzerland with
;several excursions to include a visit to Strasbourg: France and a cruise on
Lake Constance. Switzerland. if you are interested in joining this tour you
arc welcome to attend the evening presentation at Ellison Tours on

VILLAGE OF HENSALL/HENSALL P.U.C.
CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WATER SUPPLY AND STORAGE
FACILITIES
Public Comment Invited
The Village of Hensall and the Hensall Public Utilities commission are jointly studying
-alternatives to resolve supply and storage deficiencies in the Village's Communal Water
system.
One of the village's well supplies (King Street well) has a history of high nitrate
concentrations. A new test well was constructed at the Village's York Street Pumphouse
site, and it has been determined that there are adequate quantities of water available from
that site to supply the existing Village's water demands, and for growth. It has been
established that the new test well will be equipped in order to obtain adequate secure
water supplies for the Village's needs.
The water study has also identified that the available storage capacity is deficient for
current needs, and there is no capacity for growth. The construction of a new water tower
is ging considered as the preferred solution to provide the required storage capacity for
the Village. The existing water tower would then he demolished. A site for a new tower
has been determined. it would be located in the north end of the Village on Part of Lot 22,
Concession 1. This site is west of Highway No. 4, north of Mill Street. and adjacent to the
existing gravel roadway known as Soldan Street.
This study has been carried out following the process of the Class Environmental
Assessment for Municipal Water and Wastewater Projects. The identified solutions to
resolving water supply and storage concerns are Schedule B activities. approved subject
to screening. under the Class EA. As part of the screening process, public input and
comment are invited for incorporation into the planning and design of the proposed
works.
