Horticultural Society organizes garden walk and house tour By Liz Sangster Hensall correspondent, HENSALL - M Carmel Presbyterian Church, Rev. Robert Graham was welcomed as the guest minister. Dorothy Taylor was the organist for the Communion Sunday service. Rev. Graham's sermon was "The Oracles of God". Rev. Graham also sang a solo. • Communion was served by Harry Moir, Bob Taylor, Bob Bell, and Al Hoggarth. Next Sunday there will be a coffee hour following the service. Best wishes are extended to Nancy Fraser. The Hensall and District Horticultural Society will be holding a Garden Walk and House Tour on July 11 and 12. Shirley McAllister had a Children's Time at Hensall United Church. The lector was Barb Gackstetter. Clarence and Earla Coleman were the greeters. Jean Jacobi accompanied Belva Fuss and Rob Gackstetter as they sang a duet. Gackstetter also sang a'solo. The ushers were Bill Fuss and Ian McAllister. Chuck Mallette helped with the ministry of song. The sermon was given by Shirley McAllister. Hibbert United was mentioned in prayers. The United Church will be closed during July. Rev. Registrations are still being accepted at the Hensall Municipal Office, for Hensall Summer Playground, and Hensall Playground swimming pro- gram. Information regarding these programs is also available from the Municipal Office, 262-2812. Minimum registrations arc required, for the program to proceed. Friendship. Relatives attended from Dashwood, Exeter, London, Parkhill, Toronto and Shipka area. The committee in charge were: president Harvey Ratz, secretary treasurer Eleanor Sharpe, and sports committee Lorna and Bruce Smith. The 1999 officers elected were: president Harvey Ratz, secretary treasurer Eleanor Sharpe, and sports committee Mary Margaret Thompson and Nancy Jane Finch. The 1999 reunion will be held the second Sunday in June at the Shipka Community Centre. Ken and Marg Baker attended the annual Lawson reunion on Father's Day at the home of Elliott and Kay Clarke, Grand Bend. Other members of the family were present from St. Mary's, Atwood, Mitchell and Toronto. Congratulations to Elizabeth Russell on her recent graduation from King's College, University of Western Ontario. Visiting a couple days last week with Pat and Jake Schroeder were Jake's sister Anne Smith of Campbellville and Anne's daugh- ter, Lynda Clark of Ennismore, north of Peterborough: Sympathy is expressed to Marilyn Pickering and family in the recent death of Marilyn's mother, Elsie Comfort. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Kellie of Vancouver, B.C., spent a few days visiting with his sister Sheona, Gary and Jeffery Baker. Best wishes go to Norman and Amy Fischer on their 40th wedding anniversary.
