THAMES ROAD - Rev. Jock Tolmay was, in charge
of the church service on Sunday morning at Elimville. •
He told the children an interesting story and the choir
sang "I Have a Friend" accompanied by pianist Jean.
•Hcidgert.
The minister's sermon was entitled "How God
Appears." . Sharon 'Passmore and Marilyn
Vandenhussche received the offering and were the
greeters. •
The bouquet of flowers at the front of the church
was placed in memory of Phil Johns by Marjorie and
• her family. •
On June 28 following the .service there will be a fel-
lowship time with Rev. Tolmay, as•this will he his last
Sunday at Thames Road/Elimville charge. Please hring
potluck sandwiches or squares. • •

Committee is sponsoring a one day Vacation Bible.
• School on July 26. Thc'day will begin at 11:30 a.m. at
Thames Road Church with the children bringing a box
lunch to eat.
The centers of Bible study, games, t -shirt, songs and -
a snack will revolve around the theme. "Being a
Blessing in God's.World."
All children ages four and.up are welcome. Adults-

campfire at 5:30 p.m. Admission is a salad or dessert.

Dashwood seniors
DASHWOOD - On June 8 the
Dashwood Seniors met at the
Community Hall at 6 p.m. for a
potluck dinner. Two birthdays and
one anniversary were remembered
this month. President Velma
Russell opened the meeting. Thirty-
-eight members and one visitor
answered the roll call. Secretary
and treasurer reports were read.
The group discussed putting a float
in Friedshurg Parade on July 31.

Community Centre June 26.

The first fall meeting will .be
held September 21' at 7:30 p.m
with group four in charge. All
seniors are welcome.

Working for the students
Stephen Central Public School's School Council- has completeda busy yet successful_
school year. The council raised funds for its schcol's needs by organizing several
fundraising events. With these funds, the council was able to give the students new
computer equipment, curricular. programs and several donations of sports equipment. The
council stands in front'of one of their. many donations - a new regulation ball diamond.

mick to -end all publicity gimmicks.
The plan: send egotistical Birdie
accompanied with an onslaught of
media to all-American Sweet Ap-
ple. Ohio to_bestow his last kiss on
15-ycar-old Kim MacAfec (Tracey
Michailidis) while debuting his new
hit 'One Last -Kiss'.
Sounds easy enough hut when
you throw in screaming teenagers
and distraught parents. things are
hound to go awry and soon trouble

When Finlay unintentionally
crashes a Shriners' meeting her
performance of the musical number
' Spanish Rose is especially en-
tertaining.
The staging of this production
was excellent and inventive. Dur-
ing the musical number The Tele-
phone Hour the staging is a sight to
behold and helps to get the pro-
duction off to an energetic start.
• While overall.this was not a flaw-
less production. some scenes were
a bit shaky and a couple actors
lacked presence.• the -entire play
was not jeopardized.
if you're in the mood for peppy,
whimsical. toe -tapping light sum-
mer entertainment. Byc Byc Birdie
is a real treat.
The 'Huron Country Playhouse
• production of Bye Bye Birdie will
run until July 4. Tickets arc $22.5()
