took over Highway 4 from Hu-
ron Country Rd. 6 through Ex-
eter to the Exeter OPP de-
tachment for about a half
hour. OPP officers including
Exeter OPP Const. George
Finch and nine high school
students ran the route for the
annual fundraiser. The prov-
ince -wide run started at Oak-
ville on May 7 and finishes at
the '98 Special Olympics
opening ceremonies .at Sud-
bury on July 7. Those who
want to make a donation to
the Special Olympics can call
the Exeter OPP at 235-1300
for more information.
Beach v -ball at
the `.Bend,
GRAND BEND — We'll fine+,
who's best on the beach with the
Region #3 Beach Volleyball
Championships set for June 28.
The tournament is open to all
age divisions from midget tojun-
ior. both male and female, and each
divisional champion_w'ill receive
automatic seeding in the provincial
championships. he eligible for a
travel and training subsidy from the
region and receive awards. The
Junior champions will also repre-
sent regicm #3 in the Ontario
Summer Games.
The action unfolds on Grand
Bend Beach with registration at
9:30 a.m. and action starting at 10
a.m.
Cost is 1,40 per team and all
teams must pre -register by phone

Volleyball Clinic/1.D. Camp on
Grand Bend Beach,on Saturday.
Beach volleyball is now part of
the Ontario and Canada Summer
Games. Saturday's clinic is the first
step in selecting the teams to repre-
sent southwestern Ontario in the
Summer Games and is an opponu-
nith to improve each athletes
game,
Theclinic is open to male and
female athletes born in '78 or later.
The clinic is for beginners to elite
level beach players looking to (earn
from Ontario's best beach players
and coaches.
The clinic runs from 10 a.m.-
4:30 p.m. and costs 1,25 per athlete
Each participant will receive an
Overkill tank top.

The Gypsy Campers '96
gathered at the farm of Lois
and Harvey Hodgins in Ste-
phen Township on the week-
end. On Saturday afternoon,
Lois Desjardine, Harvey
Smith and Glen Wallis and
several others provided mu-
sical entertainment. About
100 people in more than 40
recreational vehicles from
across Southem Ontario
stayed at the Hodgins' farm.
