Cheque happy

Society volunteer Edna .Simmons and Exeter Lions Club president Paul Anstett both hold
cheques from the Lioness Club for $165 and $500 respectively. The ''library will use the
money for its summer reading program and a barbecue at the end of August, the Children's
Aid Society will use the money for its summer camp and the Lions Club will use the money
to fund special projects.
Anniversary service at St. Patricks

SAINTSBURY' - St Patrick's
congregation, friends and relatives
gathered on Trinity. Sunday, June
7. to celebrate the service of
Thanksgiving on the 138th an-
niversary of the parish, with Katie:
Scarlett MacGillivray greeting and
The Rev. Stanley Jay officiant for
the service. The St. Patrick's serv-
ers were presented with hand craft-
ed crosses, grained wood 'of the
olive trees from the Holy Land.
Rev. Jay made, the presentations
to senior servers Rose Cunning-
ham, , Courtney MacGillivray,
'Crystal Davis and junior server Ka-
tie -Scarlett MacGillivray. pHeath
er MacGillivray favored' with a
solo, "How Great Thou Art".
, Cunningham and Davis were
servers, for the service and Cun-
ningham assisted Rev. Jay V'vith the
scripture reading. Courtney Mac-
Gillivray accompanied the hymn
singing playing the flute.
Mrs. Liz Jay looked after the
Sunday School with Trinity the
theme, Father, Son and Holy Spir-
it. Each of the children designed
crosses from balloons. Foflewing
the great celebration apd prayers of
the people, also remembering our
forefathers who with horse and
wagon hauled the.' bricks 16 fiuik
the church that we are able to wor-
ship in today, the closing hymn,
"Faith of ,Our Fathers" was sung.
Everyone gathered in the Parish
Hall for a time of 'fellowship and
refreshment.
The service , of ''Eveni Prayer '
will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday,
June 13 at St. Patrick's. .

EXETER - Keyboard players for
the month at Dining for Seniors
were Jean Hodgen, Maxine Sereda,
Josie Ryckman and Wilma Davis.
On May 5, Mary Neil entertained
with a poem "Alt I Need to Know 1
Learned in Gardening," Faye
Skinner gave a quiz on flowers. Dr.
Brian Baker from Community Care
Access Centre for Huron spoke on
the many services available to con-
sumers and other related health
issues.
On May 12, Ruth Brock's read-
ing of "Housecleaning" triggered
many' memories. Several Bingo
games were enjoyed by all.
Karie-Su . Kyle from "Village
Vines",of Hensall demonstrated
how to make an attractive wall
hanging with greenery, artificial
flowers and ribbon on May 19.
OnMay 26 Colby Amoraal a
registered nurse from "Shoreline
Health Co." of Clinton gave a very
informative talk and demonstration
of the medical equipment and sup-
plies provided by theircompany.
