By Mindy Gough
Dashwood correspondent
DASHWOOD - Dashwood is
showing all the signs of summer -
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall can he seen
across from the mill manning their
vegetable stand, Mr. and Mrs. Freit-
er havc kindly organized and dis-
tributed the flower boxes that
brighten our corners, and the chil-
dren of the village are bicycling
and roller hlading in the sunshine.
Garage sales are plentiful, and the
Bremen have held their annual
breakfast with great success.
More than 60 Dashwood and area
residents welcomed summer with a
family fireworks night held behind
Zion Lutheran church. By all re-
ports it was a fun -filled evening
and a great way' t6 celebrate Victor-
ia Day..
Zion also •invites everyone to at-
tend .an outdoor worship service
followed by the congregational pic-
nic on Sunday, June 7 at 10 a.m. on
the church lawn. A reminder to all
parishioners that Sunday services
move to 10 a.m. for the summer! A
new feature at the church will be
Wednesday evening services at 7
p.m. beginning June 10.
The rite of confirmation was held
at Zion Lutheran church on May
31. Jesse Schroeder, Chris Oke,
Jonathan Miller, Aaron Datars,

Igarth were confirmed, and' Brian.
Hogarth, Adam Kwajafa, and
Christdpher Grimminek were wel-
comed into membership. The
church was beautifully decorated
with red roses and carnations ac-
cented by white blossoms.
Dashwood families have been
celebrating special events. Elda
Koehler celebrated her 85th birth-
day with her family recently, and

fine old age. Hubert and Vesta
Miller welcomed a little grand-
daughter, Alison May, daughter of
