Exeter women tie Lucan 4-4
First to It. Exeter soccer player Kristin Crawford beats Lu -
can's Allison Hodgins to the ball during their London and
Area Women's Soccer League Division 11 game at Lucan on
Sunday. The teams played to a 4-4 tie.
LUCAN Highway 4 rivals
Exeter and host Lucan played to
a 4-4 tie in London and Area
Women's Soccer League action
on Sunday evening.
Exeter battled back from a 2-0
deficit at the end of the first half
and a 4.3.one for the tie.
Julie Carroll was the offensive
star of the game for Lucan with a
hat -trick while Helen Theo-
philopoulas scored three goals of
her own for Exeter including the
first two and the tying goal late
in the second half..Allison Hod-
gins picked up Lucan's other
goal while Becci Farquhar scored
Exeter's other goal.
Exeter's offsided defence
didn't work on Lucan's short
field causing the team some
problems in the first half.
Lucan took advantage of a pen-
alty shot in the second half to
take a 4-3 lead. Exeter then
changed their defence to a man-
to-man system which 'gave them
more success keeping the ball out
of their end.
Kristin Crawford and Farquhar
both. played solid games for Exet-
er.

March for Jesus 1998
By Rev. Dr. Robert J. Graham
Secretary March for Jesus 1998
EXETER - The Exeter March for
Jesus parade will he taking place in
Exeter, on Saturday, May 30 begin-
ning at 1 p.m. Arca churches -have
handed together again this year to
hold a parade down the Main Street
of Exeter simply to honor "Jesus
Parade chairman Harold DeVries,
is as enthusiastic as ever about this
year's parade. The theme of this
years march is. "Jesus, the Way
Back Horne". Last year. about 175
marked and DeVries is expecting at
least that many, perhaps more, this
year. The parade route is from the
new Christian Reformed Church on
Huron Street west, to Main Street,
thence . to MacNaughton Park,
where there will be further singing
and fellowship.
The Exeter March for Jesus pa-
rade is part of a Global March tak-
ing place throughout the world.
Other nearby areas holding a march
include London and Goderich. A
Global March means that we will
he marking with several "points of
unity" with other countries around
the world. We will he marching on
the same day, May 30, 1998. We

will bo using the music, "No More
Walls" by Graham Kendrick. We
will also be joining together • in
prayer using the same prayer script.
This year we will he uniting in
prayer for the "persecuted" Church.
Rev, Dr. John Wesley White chal-
lenges all marchers to move toward
a more mature character if we are
to impact our communities the way
Jesus wants us to.
At March for Jesus Canada there
is a sense of a deeper calling than
just organizing a parade of praise.
We hope that ' each individual
marcher will accept the challenge
to walk deeper and grow spiritually
this year. Our prayer is that those
involved in the March for Jesus this
year will he strengthened by God's
grace, and directed by His love.
This year the parade forms up at
the Christian Reformed Church,
Huron St. West and marches along
Huron St. to Main St. ending up at
MacNaughton Park, The parade be;,,,
ings at 1:30 p.m. People of all de-
nominations who love the Lord Je-
sus Christ ' are invited to be a
participant in this year's parade.
