A Point to Ponder
by Rev. Vernon Dean
Exeter Pentecostal Tabernacle
Amother was watching her son march in a parade and
made the comment, "Look at that - my son is the
only one in step!"
Once again, on May 30th, there will be a March for
Jesus in Exeter and around the world. Literally million of
Christians will be waving flags and banners, singing, dancing
and celebrating the one common denominator which all true
Christians share: the acknowledgement that Jesus Christ is
Lord. Some people in the past have mistakenly assumed that
the March for Jesus was a political statement or some form of
protest.
Nothing could be further from the truth. The March for
Jesus is aptly named, for it is indeed, a March for Jesus. We
proudly proclaim that we are not ashamed of the name of
Jesus nor the wonderful things that He has done in our lives.
He has given us hope, in hopeless situations. He has restored
marriages, reclaimed prodigal sons and daughters, given us a
reason for living. He has restored what was lost and given us
the assurance that this world we are living in here and now is
not the final chapter of our lives but instead, only the
beginning of an eternity with Him. Putting it all together,
there are many many reasons to March for Jesus. The parade
lineup begins at the Christian Reformed Church at 1pm.
Now is it the right foot or the left that we start out
t together on?
