Stan Lee Club
going to view
statues

VARNA - The Stan Lee Club
will meet at the Varna Complex on
June 9 at 5:30 p.m. A Mystery
Supper will be served. There will
be a nominal charge to cover the
cost of the food.
After the meal Ralph Smith of
Bayfield will show slides of the
statues at the Laithwaits farm, east
of Goderich. Then they will travel
to Goderich to view the statues and
appreciate their history. Bring your
own dinner plate, cup and cutlery.
There will be no church service
on May 24 at either Varna or
Goshen. A church service for
London Conference will be held at
Centralia International College on
May 24.
The Five Alive are looking for
suggestions for future ideas for
Five Alive. Leave them in the sug-
gestion box at the back of the
church.
Anson and Evelyn McKinley
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary on May 15.
Mavis and Bary Turner have a
new baby boy. Grandparents are
David and Sandra Turner.
Pat and Barry Taylor have a new
granddaughter born to daughter and
son-in-law Jackie and Tim.
A Family Fun Night will be held
this Friday from 8 to 11 p.m. for
families of all ages. Admission is
$10 per family and $5 per single.
Hot dogs will be provided and
everyone is to bring finger desserts.
Baseball is getting into full
swing so come out and cheer on
your favorite team.
The Community Yard Sale was a
success once again and plans are
already underway for another one
in September.
