The 200 m. individual medley
has traditionally been sworn by
some,ot the top 1.M.ers in the coun-
try - Nancy Sweetnam and Joanne
Malar to name two. It is always
hotly contested because of the
money prize. which is unusual in
swimming.
Kristy Cameron won the 200
open I.M., as well as the 100 m.
breaststroke. She won silver in the
200 m. butterfly, and placed sixth
in the 100 rn.' freestyle. Lesley
.Burton placed fourth in the 200 m.
butterfly, fifth in the 50 m. back-
stroke. and sixth In the 50 m. but
terlly Brittany Segeren won gold
in the 100 in freestyle. third in the
50 in free, fourth in the 400 rn
free. and seventh in both the 800 m
free. and the I0(, n.. backstroke
She also made three more provin-
cial qualifying times. Andrea
Vatiderluo placed seventh in the 50

Most of the swimmers made per-
sonal.best tunes in a good percent-
age of their swims. "isle next meet
the Hurricanes will attend will be
the Youth Championships to
Sherbrooke. Quebec. Melanie
Culbert and Brittany Segeren will
be leaving May 26 to attend the.
.meet. This meet is for the top 13
and 14 year old girls, and the top
15 and 16 year old boys in Canada
It is the first national meet that
either of these two have been to
and they arc looking forward to it.
