Guiler (Peggy) Kennedy of We%lbank, B.C.
A family service was held at her home in
Grand Bend on April 30, 1998. Maureen
was born in Penticton, British Columbia on
October 6, 1921. She was educated in
Kelowna. B.C., England, Ireland and Wales,
and subsequently attended nursing school at
Vancouver General Hospital. She then
joined the WRCNS, became the first female
pay officer for the Royal Canadian Navy
and served in Halifax and Toronto during
the war. She helped raise her family in
Exeter, then Grand Bend, and was recog-
nized as an active volunteer with the Figure
Skating Club, Girl Guides and School of
Dance. Later she formed and became the
chief executive of MML Administrators.
