posts: "The recruiting_ has he coni;
fairl .soon. It's first and foremost
on the agenda'"
One area the
Hawks, must
strengthen next
season is their
offensive
punch.
"The offence
could've been
better -hut I still
think you need
to huild around Barry Baynham
your goalie, de-
fence and down the centre," Rev
ington said. "As long as you're sol-
id there you always have a chance."
And the coaching staff should
work on perhaps the number one
problem players have on any Jr. D
club...
"I've really enjoyed
ml' last four years here
as much as anything
I've done in hockey."
"Jr. D players
have a hard
time playing
without the
puck." Rcving-
ton said.
Rcvington
said he will take man happy mem-
ories with him on his new path.
Rcvington wouldn't go on the
record on what's next for him. hut
he.will he leaving the area for ca-
reer opportunity in the 11.S.
"I've really enjoyed my last four
year here as much as anything i've
done in hockey-." he said.
He also congratulated assistant
coaches Barry Baynham and Dean
Schram for thcir contributions to
the team's success. -
"Barry and Dean were in-
strumental in our playoff run," he
said.
Of course. the highlight for all

players (sec sidebar,
and the coaches. was
the all -Ontario cham-
pionship the Hawks
won in '95/96 ovci
Wellesley. -
Rcvington said
there were a' few
highlights from this
season he'll'take with him.
The top moment was the
seven win over Port Stanlc i
semi' final series, •
•"it was the 'hest played _game we
played all year from one end of the
bench to the other:" he said. "That,
was the hest team effort in the past

But every playoff series this ea -
son provided a highlight. Reving-
ton said Chamnc's game winning
goal vs. Mitchell in game three:
Scan McCann's shorthanded over-
time game winner in game two ver-
sus Seaforth: Ahayof's goal with
26 seconds left during game four in
the finals versus Wellesley to tic
the game at 2-2 with Scan McCann
pulling another shorthanded goal
out of his hat for the overtime win-
ner to stave oft

tion and Exeter.
• "11 was pretty good going to
Exeter. It was a good group of
guys.'

studying sports administration.
"It woulp be nice to focus on
that." he said '
Dan Taylor
The Hensall native left the
door open on whether he'd be
back with the Hawks in '98/99 if
offeredhone of the two overage
spots. - •
"It depends on the poach," he
said.
Again, Taylor's top memory
in his three years with the
Hawks -r• Was ' winning the all -
Ontario title. This year's high-
light was' the Hawks' game sev-
en win' over Port Stanley.
"As a team that was our best
game all year," he said.
.Taylor is currently working at
Hensalt's ,Pine Ridge Bar-
-
Taylor didn't rule out some-
day playing for the proposed
Henaall Sr. A team but he'd like
to "give it a few more years"
first.
Sean McCann
The six 'year Hawks wet and
Exeter native agreed with his
peers that the provincial cham-
pionship was the sweetest mo-
ment for. him, adding "the
friendships I've made" as an-
other top memory.
He said he's "played with and
against a lot of good hockey
pldyers" during ' his time with
the Hawks.
McCann is entering his sec-,,
and year in business studies at
'Fan'shawe College next fall. He
expects to find work in the ac-
counting field.
As • for 11is hockey future,'
McCann said he .may.play with
the Hensall Sr.. A team if the
league approves fhe applica-
tion "but I may take a year, off
of competitive hockey and play
rec league '
Jason Dunlap
. The Londoner said his one
"It's been
the most fun
I've ever hard
in hockey."
year with the
Hawks was a "great
experience.
"It was the best
.year of junior hock-
ey in my five years,"
Dunlap said. "I thoroughly en-
joyed myself."
What was the best part? 'The
amount of pride every single
guy had."
The highlight of the season
for Dunlap was the entire
playoffs, but Sean McCann's
overtime shorthanded heroics
in game two versus Seaforth
stands out
Dunlap has played Jr. B with
St. Marys and Jr. D with Park-
hill before his year with the
.Hawks. He . said he'd .like to
come back as one of Eketer's
two overage players.
Dunlap is a "tin whacker' or
sheetmetal worker with a Lon-
don firm.
Greg Goodwin
Goodwin, from London but
born in St. Thomas, has played
the last two seasons with the
Hawks after con-
centrating on his
golf career while
on a scholarship
at Southern Il-
linois for the two
years prior. Be-
fore that he
played with the Strathroy Jr. B
Blades after being drafted by
. the OHL Windsor Spitfires.
"It's been the most fun I've
ever had in hockey," Goodwin
said about his time with Exeter.
"It's a great town with great
fans."
He had high praise for coach/
G.M. Dave Revington.'
"He's by far the best coach
I've ever had," he said.
This year's playoff run was
one of Goodwin's highlights
along with playing with former
captain Jason McBride in '96/,
97, someone Goodwin called a
"great leader.'
Goodwin plans on becoming
a pro gplfer next year and
hopes to play on the Canadian
tour. He also hopes to play
hockey with the Sr. A Hensall
team.
Andy Glavin ,
Glavin is "really interested" in
filling :one of overage positions
with the Hawks next season.
Ile played . his sixth year of
junior hockey with Exeter last
season, with other junior stints
with the North Middlesex Jr. D
Stars, the Listowel Jr, B team
and Port Colbome Jr; B Sailors
of the Golden Horseshoe
league.
Glavin • said his single' year
with the Hawks was special.
, "It's a blessing to play junior
hockey in 'your hometown, es-
pecially .With your brother," he
said. That brother is -Jeff who is
due back with the ,Hawks next
season. , ,
"We dedicated this season to
our mother," he- continued.

June '97. All team members
wore her initials on ,their jer-
seys in her memory this sea-
son.

chartered accountant atter
graduating from Brock Uni-
versity.
He had high praise for the
Hawks executive.
"When you have the best or-
ganization in the league with
guys like Tom McCann and Bill
Farquhar, don't think the
Hawks have to
worry about re-
building. The
Exeter Hawks
- reload, not . re-
build."
Glavin said "it
was a great
honor playing with • Sean
McCann.
"Because of him. Exeter minor
hockey players know you don't
have to be six feet tall and 180
lbs to play junior hockey in your
hometown. Playing with guys
like • that and my brother is
priceless."
,Note: Chris McDonald was
unavailable for comment due to
the fact he is on vacation in
B.C.; a photo of Ryan Cham-
ney was unavailable before the

at 7:30 p.m.
Persons interested in joining the Executive of the
'Exeter Hawks should, contact any member of the
Hawks Executive or players
The Executive of the Exeter Jr. "D
Hawks would like to congratulate
the Hawks and thank their many
supporters for another great r "r
hockey season!
The players overcame adversity, exhaustion and
injuries to come within one game of winning the All
Ontario Championship.
The team played twenty-seven out of a possible
twenty-eight games, most of which were not
decided until, late in the contest, and provided some
of the most entertaining and ex -citing hockey Exeter
has ever seen.
Thrilling victories over Mitchell, Seaforth and Port
Stanley led to a spectacular comeback from three
games down against Wellesley, only to lose game
seven to the talented and hard working Applejacks.
We salute our players for a valiant effort.
Throughout the playoffs; the Hawks had the best fan
support' in the league and in many road games, our
fans out numbered the hometown fans. We
appreciate your loyalty and are confident that you
got good value for your money.
We are also grateful to our many sponsors and look
forward to the 1998-99 season and more exciting
