THAMES ROAD --Seventy-five
people gathered _at Thames Road
Church last Monday to honor Jayne
Rowe. bride -elect of June,. Jean
Hodgert played "Walk Hand in
Hand Wijh- Me" and Rowe sat in a
decorated chair. Balloons; plastic
hens and chickens decorated the
basement. Michele Hodgert was the
chairperson for the program and
two contests were enjoyed.
Brenda Miner gave a reading
"Recipe for a Good Husband".
Marion Snow read an address,
and Stacey Snow, Susan Miner and
Holly Hcrn carried in the gifts for
the bride -to -he.
Church service
Rev. Jock Tplmay was in charge
of the church service .on Sunday
morning at Elimvillc.
Heather Parsons and Megan
Parker were the greeters.
. The service consisted of the
singing of old familiar hymns. The
choir sang two anthems accompa-
nied by pianist Marjorie Johns.

Ballantyne pushed a cart full of.
groceries to the front for thc Food
Bank.

Committee will meet at Elimvillc at
7 p.m. followed by a council meet-
ing at 8 p.m.
On May 7 Sunbeams will meet at
Thames Road pt 9:30 a.m.

extra Church Directory. Books for
sale at a price of $10.70 per hook.
If you are • interdsted in purchasing
one, please phone Sharon Pavjeke
at 229-6891. They will he sold on a
first come basis. Orders must he
placed by May 10.
A carnival is' being organized at
Usborne•Central School on June 12
beginning at.5 p.m. Everyone is
welcome. The organizing commit-
tee needs .1 kg. clear plastic peanut
butter jars with lids. If you have
any, please bring them to the
school or contact Janine Dougall at
263-5124.
On May 12 the U.C.W. will meet
at Elimvillc at 8 p,m. The program
will be organized by the
Stewardship and. Finance commit-
tee, Marilyn Pym, -.Agnes Bray,
Anne Kernick, Helen Webber and
Leona Cottle. Members are remind-
ed to bring an annual for the flower
beds for the roll call. Group C will
serve lunch.

HENSALL - A.J. Rempel of Hensall won a cooler, set in the
Queensway Nursing Home's tree draw at the Exeter Home, Garden and -
Lcisure Sh••w.
Qladys. and Her Merry Makers provided music at the April hirthday•
party on April 23. Birthday „greetings went to Muriel Gunning. John
Pepper, Edna Stewart, Grace Anderson, Hazel Gross! Murray Howe,
and Dorothy Carrel. Volunteers made this a special afternoon- for the -
residents. 1
Rev. Di Novo of Brucetield. and Kippen United Churches led wor,
ship service on April 21 and Rev. Peebles provided the service On April
28. Belva Fuss was volunteer pianist with Marg Cole assisting thc resi-
dents.
On Thursday evening Diners stayed to visit as well as take part int
games scheduled in the retirement home lounge. Seniors dining group
takes place the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Any senior
is welcome to call Queensway for details.
Dr. 1 nglert presented a Inscrvice on 'New Treatments tor Heart and -
Stroke on April 30. at 1:30 p.m. Seniors from the community as well as
staff and family members were welcome to attend. Educational ses-
sions are offered 10 times per year, featuring health related issues. -
Clare Masse and Andrew Rau contributed to Friendship Friday in the
retirement home lounge when they entertained Friday evening from
7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Residents enjoy their music the first Friday evening
of each month and a variety of entertainers the third Friday evepirlg of
each month.

was entitled 'He touched me'.
At the St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Kirkton on • Sunday, the
Rev. Glenda Meakin led the service
'of Holy Communion and her mes-
-sage was the relationship •of the
Good Shepherd based on Psalm 231 .
John Urquhart read the lessons. A .
time of fellowship followed in the
lower church -hall.
