Community Credit unions merge
CLINTON - The most recent
"mega -merger" of two of Canada's
large banks provides even greater
evidence that Credit Unions are the
only financial institutions with a
solid commitment to Ontario com-
munities, says Steve Tyndall, trea-
surer/manager of Clinton
Community Credit Union Limited.
"The big banks have consistently
said that the mergers won't result in
a decline of service to their cus-
tomers," says Tyndall. • "However,
Ontario communities are•already
experiencing bank branch closures
and loss of service."
"Ontario Credit Unions are step-
ping in to fill those gaps because of
our commitment to communities
and personalized service. We are
opening a facility in Dashwood on
May 5, 1998 left vacant when Bank
of Montreal closed last October.
