The Tuesday fire was set within a small woodlot and hurned off the evergreen needles. It was contained within the woodiot. The Sunday afternoon grass fire was also set and was to the west of the woodiot. It also hurned the grass along the drain. Fire Chief John Morgan said the police are investigating and have the names of the individuals who set the fires. He said the biggest concern is that the people who set the fire could easily burn themselves. Al- though firefighters wear protective gear, there is always the danger of injury. "it looks innocent enough but if the fire ever got going, the woodiot would he gone in a few minutes," he said, adding the arsonists could easily get caught within the burning trees. Morgan estimated extinguishing the two fires cost $1,500 in man- power and direct costs.
