Home town support
"...the players and parents found
out how great it was to be on a
team from Exeter."
Dear Editor:
The Exeter Atom A.E. Nabisco team won the All
Ontario O.M.H.A. final series on the weekend.-
During
eekend.During the past two or three weeks, during the semi-
final series against Waterford and then the final
series against Ennismore, the players and parents
found out how great it was to he on a team from
Exeter. The support from fans and businesses was
terrific.
Not only was the Ennismore team blown away by
Exeter, but the parents were blown away by the
number of fans, the facility and the opening cere-
monies for the first game of the series in Exeter on
March 28.
As parents of a team member, we would like to
thank the fans who came out to the games and the
businesses who took the time to display"Good luck"
for the team on their business signs.
Special thanks to Brenda Desjardine who not only
sang our National Anthem before the first and sec-
ond games in Exeter, but travelled to Ennismore to
give support to the team for the final game. Just a '
note for any team entering an All Ontario series,
Brenda has a perfect record as she has sang the
National Anthem at the beginning of three final
series and all three teams went on to win the
O.M.H.A. title. The Hawks may be interested in this.
Special thanks to Darryl McCann for making
many trips to the arena to set up equipment before
games to enable us to play music and announce dur-
ing the games. Thanks also to. Bill Armstrong and
the Exeter Fire Department for the use of the fire
truck for the team ride through town, to the business-
es who had 'congratulations' signs up when we
came home, and to the Hawks organization for invit-
ing the boys to the Saturday night game.
All of these things made many memories that one
group of 10 and I I year olds will never forget.

Cornelissen, centre, tries to
fight off a London Cando
player during their game on Fri-
day at the Lucan 3 -on -3 hock-
ey tournament put on by CBJ
Sports at Lucan Community
Memorial Centre. The Junior
Wings eventually won the '90
division title over West London
when Gregory Noyes scored on
the team's sole penalty shot

ship final (penalty shots are
awarded at the end of games
rather than have players serve penalties). Oakridge London won the '88 house league title.
Another 3 -on -3 tournament is scheduled for April 17-19 for players born in '83-89. Organizer
Chet Couture said they have received a "better response than expected" and are looking for
