freeze on ,the construction of new intensive
' livestock barns for six•months. .
Nearly 101 people attended the .Biddulph
council meeting last Tuesday night to voice
their concern. .about the potential environ-
- mental impacts of Targe- livestock operation.

Board administrator Paul Carroll said detailed work-
sheets have not been received to tell the complete sto-
ry . but he already knows the hoard will conic up short-
in transportation and building budgets.
The Huron -Perth Roman Catholic- Separate School
Board superintendent of business Gerry Thuss is more
positive about the new funding formula.
"It's positive to us. but the details behind it arc still
I. come." he said. adding. "It's good it's directing
money to the classroom."
Thuss said thc transportation funding has been flat- .
lined and a study group is reviewing the budget. Be
cause the .HPRCSSB 15.0 rural hoard. transportation i -
always a concern: according to Thuss.
The AMDSR also faces a $2. million shortfall in the
accommodation. budget. Carroll said the lorntei Huron
hoard was,already. the lowest- spending hoard tot build:
ing maintenance
."The only other place to look at is buildings." he -
said.
The funding formula is also influencing the site re-
view
eview committee's recommendation to close Seaford'
high school. The committee met Monday and reported
it -would recommend not proceeding with the original
motion to close the Seaford] high school • .
Instead. the committee said it would recommend the -
establishment of a number of accommodation review:
committees to examine all school locations in the dis-
trict where enrollment or occupancy levels and the
state of building repair may be problematic.
On Friday. ministry or education officials will meet
with school board directors_ and superintendents to pro-
vide more information." •

Landfill site on
Monday's agenda
EXETER - On March f6. Exeter council publicly announced its
plan for the ttaure of the Exeter landfall site. located.four kilometers
west on Exeter in Hay Township. Council wants Exeter residents to
ronin forth with then questions and concerns. •,:
"The council is very interested in receiving/hearing any questions
or submissions on this.ntatter. We encourage the public to attend the
council niecung of Monday. April•(' at 7:30 p.m:." the report states.
The Huron County Draft Waste Management Master Plan iden-
tifues the landfill sites owned by. Exeter and Morns Township as des-
tinations for garbage as individual sites run out of space_ •
- Exeter council believes it is in the hest interest of the town's res-
idents to sell the landfill site to Huron County
The position report includes the following information. ' -
"The council proposes as follows-
1..That the County will purchase the site from Exeter for $2.1 mil-
lion.. •-
. 2 That the County provide Exeter with free use 01 the landfill for
the duration of its complete sur life.
3. Thai the section of Ha. Concession Road 4/5 from the former
Highway No. K? to the site entrance be assuined by. the County.
4. That the value of adjacent properties be guaranteed by the
County for the current owners."
